'Dog Whisperer' star Cesar Millan and wife Ilusion file for divorce

Dog Whisperer star Cesar Millan and his wife Ilusion are ending their marriage.

"We are sad to announce that after 16 years of marriage we have decided to file for divorce," read a Friday statement posted Millan's personal website.
"The decision was made after much consideration and time. We remain caring friends, and are fully committed to the co-parenting of our two boys."
Ilusion filed for divorce in Los Angeles court citing irreconcilable differences, according to legal documents obtained byPeople.
In addition, Ilusion is also seeking primary physical custody of their two sons -- with visitation for theDog Whisperer star -- and spousal support.
Dog Whisperer premiered on National Geographic Channel in 2004 and has been nominated for the Emmy Awards' Outstanding Reality Program award three times -- most recently last year, when it lost to A&E's Intervention.
New episodes of Dog Whisperer currently air Fridays at 9PM ET/PT on National Geographic Channel.
