Discovery Channel has announced Mythbusters will return with new sixth-season episodes beginning Wednesday, August 6 at 9PM ET/PT.

Some of the myths Mythbusters will attempt to either prove or disprove during the new episodes will include whether explosives can be used to tenderize a steak; if driving angry uses more gasoline; and whether the NASA moon landing could be a hoax.

Prior to the beginning of the run of new episodes, Discovery Channel will also air Mythbusters Shark Week Special 2008 on Sunday, July 27 at 9PM ET/PT. 

Some of the shark myths tackled in the two-hour special will include whether dogs attract sharks; if vibrations caused by a flapping, injured fish attract sharks; and whether chili powder repels sharks.

Mythbusters' new sixth-season episodes will serve as the lead-in for Man vs. Wild's third season which will air Wednesdays at 10PM ET/PT.  Man vs. Wild's third season, which also premieres August 6, will continue to follow survival expert Bear Grylls as he battles the elements at various locations around the world.

In addition to Mythbusters and Man vs. Wild, Discovery also announced Smash Lab's second season will premiere Tuesday, August 5 at 10PM ET/PT and Some Assembly Required's second season will debut Thursday, August 7 at 9PM ET/PT.

CORRECTION: Due to incorrect Discovery Network information, an earlier version of this report incorrectly stated August 6 would mark the debut of Mythbusters' seventh season.
