Monday night's The Bachelorette episode featured Rachel Lindsay and Dean's first one-on-one date together. Not only did the couple take a ride in the Goodyear blimp in South Carolina, but they also enjoyed a romantic dinner outdoors when Dean became very vulnerable.

"We finally got to really know Dean. Dean was always a frontrunner with his bold entrance and his good looks and smile, but getting to the heart of him really changed how Rachel viewed him," Chris wrote in his Yahoo! TV blog.

Rachel was initially concerned Dean may not be ready to get married and start a family since he's only 26-years-old. However, he proved to Rachel that he is mature during their one-on-one date in the latest episode.

Dean revealed to Rachel how he comes from a strict religious family who loved the outdoors and playing sports together. His incredible mother, however, was diagnosed with breast cancer when he was only nine-years-old, and she passed away when he was 15-years-old.

Dean cried when sharing the emotional story about losing his mother, admitting his family fell apart following her death and he lived alone for three years when he was a young teenager. The startup recruiter from Venice, CA, let Rachel know that she was the first person he's ever opened up to about his heartbreaking memories.

"I think we can all relate to Dean. It's hard to open up about your past, but with the right person, it feels very cathartic," Chris noted.

Dean told Rachel that he hopes to achieve the close-knit family he once had, so he insisted he's excited to become a father. Rachel realized during that conversation that Dean is an "amazing" person with a "great outlook on life." She said she certainly wants qualities Dean has in a partner for life.

"Dean is deep and complex and interesting," Chris wrote, "and there is no question he is going to be around for a while."

After dinner, Dean and Rachel danced and kissed to a concert by Russell Dickerson. Dean admitted he never expected to develop feelings for Rachel so quickly.

"I can feel myself falling in love with her and it feels really good," Dean told the cameras. "This is the best day of my life."
