Daniel Powter's 'Idol'-fueled 'Bad Day' sells 1.5 million downloads

"Bad Day," a debut single from Canadian Daniel Powter, who performed the song on "American Idol," has been downloaded off the Internet 1,690,814 times.
The pop song was No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart for five consecutive weeks, Warner Bros. said.
"Bad Day" was the most frequently played song in Europe in 2005, reaching No. 1 in 12 countries -- including Britain, Australia, Japan, Canada, France and Germany. Powter's self-titled album sold almost 2 million copies worldwide.
