"I don't like speaking when I am upset, and I don't ever want to bring back words that I don't mean, and 'I quit' I guess was one of them," he told Entertainment Tonight after last night's live performance episode.

"And I only said one word, and I guess that's the one I take back."

During rehearsal footage of Dovolani and Gosselin that aired during last night's episode, the professional told the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star, "I quit," after she questioned his teaching methods.

"It was a tough 30 seconds -- and they showed every second of it -- which is fine," Gosselin told Entertainment Tonight about the footage.

"I don't mind the reality part of it. The reality is that it is very, very tough."

The two subsequently reconciled and received a 15 out of 30 possible points for their jive during last night's episode.

Before Dancing with the Stars tenth season premiered last week, reports surfaced that Gosselin has been a "total diva" on the set. While she denied the report, Dancing with the Stars' professional Mark Ballas subsequently described her as "standoffish" during their first meeting.
