Neither Maksim Chmerkovskiy nor his fiancee Karina Smirnoff have ascended to Dancing with the Stars' championship throne yet, however he apparently feels that their eventual children should be considered royalty.

"Our kids would be rock stars," Chmerkovskiy told People in a Wednesday report. "They're going to be like royalty."

Chmerkovskiy recently proposed to Smirnoff at Las Vegas' Wynn Hotel, a proposition that caused the often bear-chested ballroom dancer to lose his confident swagger.

"Planning the proposal was the most nerve-wracking thing of my life," he told People. "When it came down to it, I thought, 'It's not a given that she'll say yes.' All of a sudden it's like, 'I have nothing to say! Why did I even do this?'"

Despite his apprehension, Smirnoff said she found it charming that Chmerkovskiy let his guard down.

"I thought it was so cute because you never see Maks [nervous] like this," she told People.

While Chmerkovskiy and Smirnoff both made their Dancing with the Stars debut during the show's Fall 2006 third season, neither has ever claimed the show's mirror ball trophy.

However they will have a chance to change that when Dancing with the Stars' eighth season premieres March 9 on ABC.  As for their wedding, the couple plans to tie the knot later this year, according to People.
