The former Little House of the Prairie star will be among the celebrities competing on the fourteenth season of Dancing with the Stars this spring, TMZ reported Friday.

In addition to Gilbert, the celebrity cast -- which ABC will officially announce Tuesday, February 28 on Good Morning America -- will also include actor and former Melrose Place star Jack Wagner as well as comedienne and The View co-host Sherri Shepherd, according to TMZ.

Gilbert had been reported to be part of last fall's Dancing with the Stars edition before the cast was formally announced, however the "deal fell through" for unspecified reasons, according to TMZ.

"After so much pain and heartache recently, it's nice to see Melissa with something to smile about," an insider told the National Enquirer last year when it reported Gilbert would be competing on Dancing with the Stars' thirteenth season.

"Her upcoming appearance is giving her something to look forward to after her split from her husband... Melissa has had one bad break after another... it's nice to see her luck is changing by landing on Dancing with the Stars."

Gilbert, a former Screen Actors Guild presidentfiled for divorce from actor Bruce Boxleitner last August after 16 years of marriage.

Dancing with the Stars' fourteenth season will premiere Monday, March 19 at 8PM ET/PT with a two-hour broadcast and be followed by the edition's first one-hour results show on Tuesday, March 27 at 9PM ET/PT.
