According to a CBS spokesperson, additional details about Survivor's next season -- including confirmation of the edition's filming location and title -- won't be announced until the December 14 broadcast of the finale of the long-running reality franchise's currently-airing Survivor: Gabon edition.

Although Survivor's producers decided to waive the show's usual age requirement and allow a then 20-year-old Michael "Frosti" Zernow to compete on the show's Fall 2007 Survivor: China edition, Survivor's eighteenth edition was the first Survivor edition to permit Under-21 applicants to apply for the show. As part of last spring's eighteenth-season casting, Survivor lowered its minimum age requirement from 21- to 18-years-old.

Survivor 18's premiere was announced as part of a 2008-2009 midseason programming announcement in which CBS also announced premiere dates for The Amazing Race's fourteenth season and Game Show in My Head, a new Ashton Kutcher-produced hidden camera game show.

The Amazing Race 14, which will be the first The Amazing Race edition to air in the spring since The Amazing Race: All-Stars aired in 2007, will premiere on Sunday, February 15 at 8PM ET/PT while Game Show in My Head, which will be hosted by former Fear Factor host Joe Rogan, will premiere on Saturday, January 3 at 8PM ET/PT.
