The American Idol fourth-season champ will sing a duet with Elvis Presley -- who's been dead since 1977 -- on the upcoming "Elvis Presley Christmas Duets" album.

Underwood and Presley will sing "I'll Be Home For Christmas" on the album, which is scheduled to drop October 14.

Additional duets will include Nashville Star third-season host LeAnn Rimes singing "Here Comes Santa Claus;" Nashville Star fourth-season host Wyonna Judd singing "Santa Claus is Back in Town;"
and former Dancing with the Stars celebrity participant Sara Evans singing "Silent Night."

"We are so pleased that these accomplished artists are collaborating with Elvis in this unique way to make exciting new versions of his Christmas songs," said Elvis' ex and former Dancing with the Stars participant Priscilla Presley. "I am sure Elvis would be proud to have worked with them,"

Since Presely has been deceased for 31 years, the album's Sony BMG Music Entertainment producers used "the most advanced and sophisticated audio technology available" to record the album.

"This is an excellent example of the innovative ways in which we keep Elvis' catalog fresh for new and existing fans, and continue the history of creating, preserving and celebrating his great music," said Sony BMG executive John Ingrassia.

"Elvis Presley Christmas Duets" is the first ever Presley duets album in history.
