The Academy of Country Music Awards ceremony could be a big night for Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert.

The American Idol fourth-season champion and former Nashville Star first-season finalist each received five nominations for the 45th ACM Awards, which will air live on April 18 on CBS.

Underwood has landed a total of eight ACM Awards since 2006, and she'll be looking for a repeat in the Entertainer of the Year category, which she won last year.

Underwood and Lambert -- who has won two ACM Awards during her career -- will also face-off in three categories: Top Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Underwood's "Play On" will compete against Lambert's "Revolution" in the Album of the Year category, while the American Idol champ's "Cowboy Casanova" and former Nashville Star finalist's "White Liar" will meet in the Song of the Year category.

Underwood is going for a three-peat in the Top Female Vocalist of the Year category, which she won in both 2008 and 2009.

In addition, Lambert's "White Liar" was nominated for Single of the Year and Video of the Year, while Underwood's performance of "I Told You So" featuring Randy Travis received a nod in the Vocal Event of the Year category.
