Carrie Underwood is currently in such high demand that she's going to tour quite a bit longer than initially planned.

The American Idol fourth-season champ has added 51 stops to her Carnival Ride Tour beginning September 23 in Cleveland, OH.  The tour kicked off earlier this year and was originally scheduled to come to a close on June 24 in New Orleans.  Tickets for the added shows will go on sale June 20.

The 51 additional dates on the Carnival Ride Tour will cross the country, make several stops in Canada and also include a few summer fairs and festivals.  The tour will now come to a close on December 14 in Gainesville, FL.

"Carnival Ride" -- Underwood's second album -- made its debut at No. 1 on Billboard's The Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums album sales charts after moving 527,000 copies in its first week of release last October.

The album currently sits at No. 19 on The Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the Top Country Albums charts and is certified double platinum -- having moved slightly more than 2 million copies since it was released.
