Big Brother featured the Head of Household, Tiffany Mitchell, nominating Kyland Young and Sarah Beth Steagall for eviction, before Claire Rehfuss won a secret and anonymous power to dethrone Tiffany and potentially change her nominations during Sunday night's Season 23 episode on CBS.

Tiffany, a 40-year-old phlebotomist from Detroit, MI, decided to put Kyland, a 29-year-old account executive from San Bernardino County, CA who currently resides in Venice Beach, CA, and Sarah Beth, a 27-year-old forensic scientist from Boiling Springs, SC who currently resides in Fort Myers, FL, on the chopping block.

Xavier Prather, a 27-year-old attorney from Kalamazoo, MI, became an automatic third nominee due to a punishment he had received in the previous Power of Veto competition.

However, Claire, a 25-year-old artificial intelligence engineer from Chagrin Falls, OH who currently resides in New York, NY, secretly won the "Coin of Destiny" and took over Tiffany's Head of Household power, and so Claire had to choose whether to change Tiffany's nominations or keep them the same.

The Big Brother broadcast began on Day 51, after Tiffany was crowned the season's new Head of Household.

Tiffany was so excited to have won a competition after determining it wasn't worth risking her relationship with "The Cookout" to save Derek Xiao.

Claire was thrilled her tightest ally in the house had become HoH, but she hoped the "Coin of Destiny" game in the "High Roller's Room" this week wouldn't "screw them over."

Meanwhile, Kyland cried about sending Derek X. home.

Kyland said it was the right decision to make and he had no regrets but he was still said about losing such a good friend and "genuine guy" in the house.

And Sarah Beth was upset about Derek X.'s speech and the face he had thrown her under the bus.

Sarah Beth said it hurt to have been betrayed by Derek X., who compared her game to former Big Brother Nicole Franzel's game.

But Sarah Beth planned to put on a good face and act excited about Tiffany's HoH victory.

Days earlier, Sarah Beth had formed a new "Monarchy" alliance with Kyland, Xavier, and Alyssa Lopez, a 24-year-old swimwear designer from Sarasota, FL.

Alyssa told Sarah Beth that she thought Tiffany was going to target Xavier and herself, or Kyland and Sarah Beth.

Xavier and Kyland, however, felt totally safe as members of "The Cookout" alliance with Tiffany; Derek Frazier, a 29-year-old safety officer from Philadelphia, PA; Azah Awasum, a 30-year-old director of sales operations from Baltimore, MD; and Hannah Chaddha, a 21-year-old graduate student from Chicago, IL.

Tiffany then told the cameras it would make sense to her to nominate Sarah Beth as her target and Sarah Beth's close ally, Kyland, as her pawn for the week. Tiffany absolutely wasn't going to nominate her "Cookout" outsider but ally, Claire.

Kyland shared with Tiffany how her game plan would be fine if that's what she wanted to do.

Meanwhile, Hannah felt "awful" for having lied to Derek X. and sending him home. She hoped Derek X., her righthand man in the game, would be able to forgive her and remain her friend outside of this game.

Tiffany acknowledged there could be "an anonymous HoH" this week due to the "Coin of Destiny," and so she asked Derek F. -- who had racked in a lot of BB Bucks -- to play the game and try to win so the new HoH wouldn't usurpe her power and plan in motion.

Tiffany then admitted to Sarah Beth that her choice to target Derek X. in the previous week had essentially "cut off my legs" in the game.

Sarah Beth didn't like hearing that and insisted she had not wanted Derek X. gone in order to weaken her game, although Tiffany's perspective on the situation was "slightly true," according to Sarah Beth, who could probably predict she'd be one of Tiffany's nominees.

Sarah Beth therefore attempted to put other possible targets into Tiffany's mind, and she did so by ratting out Alyssa.

"Baby D. [or Derek X.] really close to winning this last HoH. Alyssa said that when he missed it, that you had a very visible reaction, like you looked really disappointed," Sarah Beth said, adding that she never really believed Alyssa as the previous HoH.

"But that's just the type of player Alyssa is. I know she lies to other people."

Sarah Beth insisted she had no loyalty to Alyssa, and Tiffany said she genuinely believed what she was saying.

"Sarah Beth is very convincing. I mean, she ran Alyssa over with the bus! Alyssa is in the ICU right now," Tiffany explained in the Diary Room.

"That's how hard Sarah Beth came to get Alyssa on the block, and I seriously cannot believe that I'm saying this, but with the 'Coin of Destiny' in place, I may have to look at some other options."

At the Nomination Ceremony, Tiffany announced she had decided to nominate Kyland and Sarah Beth for eviction.

Xavier was also on the chopping block as the third nominee because he had chosen the "Third Nominee" punishment in the previous Power of Veto competition, which he had won.

Tiffany shared how Sarah Beth and Kyland are "a very powerful duo in this house" and so she must make "an optimal move" to excel her own personal game.

Tiffany said she wasn't going to miss her shot at Sarah Beth to take out Alyssa instead because she can go after Alyssa in a future week. Kyland was understanding of Tiffany's choice since he had watched Hannah lose Derek X. and Azah lose Britini D'Angelo.

Tiffany assured Sarah Beth that Kyland was her target, but she only said that so Sarah Beth wouldn't fight so hard in the upcoming PoV competition. Sarah Beth recognized Tiffany could be lying to her though, and so she still felt she was in danger of possible eviction.

It then became time for players to compete for the "Coin of Destiny," which would cause the current HoH to have a coin flip with the game's winner for power over the house.

The winner of the coin toss would immediately dethrone Tiffany and secretly take over all of her powers for the week.

That means Sarah Beth and Kyland could be removed from the chopping block, and the new HoH would be completely anonymous, so he or she would name their nominees in secret and play HoH from the shadows.

The secret HoH, however, would not be eligible to compete in the next HoH competition.

Xavier, however, could not be removed from the block since he had been nominated as a punishment.

Big Brother's houseguests proceeded to enter the "High Roller's Room" one at a time to discover how many BB Bucks America had awarded them this week. The players had also picked envelopes at random after the previous HoH competition containing either $50 or $100 BB Bucks.

Azah only received $50 BB Bucks from America as well as $50 BB Bucks from her envelope, so she was ineligible to play "Coin of Destiny," which cost $250 BB Bucks.

Xavier won $75 BB Bucks from America and $50 BB Bucks in his eligible, so he also could not play.

America gave Alyssa $75 BB Bucks, which added to her $100 BB Bucks in the envelope. Still, Alyssa did not have enough BB Bucks to play the game.

Tiffany and Hannah hoped Claire would play "Coin of Destiny" and win it because she'd keep Tiffany's nominations the same and would allow all six "Cookout" members to play in the upcoming HoH competition. Tiffany could even be crowned HoH two weeks in a row.

Hannah received $100 BB Bucks from America and $50 in her envelope for a total of $300 BB Bucks. However, Hannah opted not to play.

America awarded Kyland $50 BB Bucks, and he had $100 BB Bucks in his envelope. With only $200 BB Bucks, Kyland couldn't play.

Tiffany then discovered America had voted to give her $100 BB Bucks, and she also had $50 BB Bucks in her envelope. She, however, did not play "Coin of Destiny."

Sarah Beth mentioned how America is probably happy she's in danger, and she was right, given she was awarded only $50 BB Bucks. She had $100 BB Bucks in her envelope but couldn't play with a total of $200 BB Bucks.

Derek F. earned $75 BB Bucks from America plus $100 in his envelope. Derek F. previously won $100 BB Bucks in the Domino-themed Veto competition for a grand total of $425 BB Bucks.

Derek F. decided to play the gambling game in order to be a team player, although he didn't have the best personal relationship with Tiffany.

For the game, Derek F. was required to aim and roll gold coins down a lane in attempt to land them in one of three slots, each of which was worth a different number of points. The player with the highest number of points in two minutes would become the secret HoH.

Derek F. tried to throw the competition and received a score of one.

Claire received $100 BB Bucks from America and $50 BB Bucks, for a total of $250 BB Bucks.

Claire opted to play "Coin of Destiny" and executed a strategy of rolling coins as fast as possible down the lane. She earned herself a score of three points, which she assumed was pretty low.

The houseguests then learned someone had won "Coin of Destiny" with a score of three, and Claire was pretty happy with herself. Tiffany then flipped the giant coin to determine if she'd remain Head of Household or lose her power for the week.

The coin landed on Heads and so Tiffany had been dethroned. Nobody knew who had the power, except for Claire, and so Alyssa prayed the new HoH wouldn't take a shot at her.

Claire, who respected Tiffany's original nominations, secretly decided to keep Tiffany's two nominations the same, and so the only thing that could ruin Tiffany's place is Sarah Beth winning the Power of Veto and removing herself from the chopping block.

Sarah Beth appeared pretty defeated, believing either she or Kyland will be going home on Thursday night.
