The Paradise episode picked up with Monday night's broadcast had left off, with Vinny still reeling from Izzy's revelation she was very attracted to Brett Melnick and having doubts about their relationship.

Carly Waddell said it was hard to watch a man cry and she could really relate to Vinny because Kirk DeWindt had crushed her heart on the second season of Paradise, leaving her completely blindsided and confused as well. Kirk told Carly about his concerns when it was far too late in the game.

Vinny didn't want to sit around and wait for Izzy just so he could be second best, so he decided to leave Paradise and seek some closure from Izzy beforehand.

During their emotional conversation in which both individuals were crying, Vinny explained he didn't expect to find a connection so strong with someone on the show and he only wanted to be with her and there for her all season long.

Vinny acknowledged it was tough for him to open up, but he did, and he thought they were on the same page in that they didn't want to date other people.

Izzy explained she was having doubts about Vinny before Brett arrived but she just never spoke about them. She said it was therefore unfortunate Vinny thought she was throwing their relationship away over a really hot guy.

Vinny admitted there was potential for him to fall in love and she could've handled the situation much better. Vinny then chose to leave Paradise and Izzy hugged him bawling her eyes out. She asked him to stay, but it was half-hearted, and then she apologized for hurting him, which she never wanted to do.

Izzy told the cameras Vinny deserved a lot better than what she had just put him through. In his final words, Vinny said he felt "taken advantage of" all because a guy arrived whom Izzy thought looked good.

Evan Bass then added his two cents and said he was disappointed in Izzy and devastated for Vinny. The cast seemed to agree that Izzy and Vinny were the strongest couple in Paradise this season.

The split shook everyone on the show because they realized anything could happen in Paradise, even to people seemingly falling head over heels in love.

Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert then surprised the cast with a visit. They got married after meeting on Season 2, so they wanted to prove to everyone this process can work. The couple were asked to chat with each pair in Paradise to determine who deserves a special Date Card.

Jade and Tanner quickly learned that Evan cared more about Carly than she did for him, and Grant Kemp was in love with Lace Morris, but she had yet to say those three little words back.

Because Lace didn't feel ready to express her love, she wondered if she clashed with Grant and they weren't meant to be together. Lace therefore started questioning her relationship.

Josh Murray then gushed to Jade and Tanner about how wonderful Amanda Stanton is. He basically begged the married couple for their Date Card, but because Josh was so over-the-top and laid it on thick, Tanner wondered if he had an ulterior motive. Josh was insistent he and Amanda deserved the date.

Tanner then advised Nick Viall to get out of his head because he was stopping himself from potentially falling in love with Jennifer Saviano.

Caila and Jared told Jade and Tanner they could envision themselves leaving the show together. Tanner was really happy to see his buddy with a woman who put a smile on his face.

Since Caila and Jared also live fairly close to one another on the East coast, Jade and Tanner could see them falling in love and working things out. Caila also pointed out she loves Rhode Island.

It was then Ashley's turn and she made it known Caila was a "fake" person and Jared was more into her than Caila was into him. Ashley hoped she had ruined Jared and Caila's chance for a one-on-one date.

But she was wrong. Jade and Tanner decided to give the Date Card to Jared and Caila, who then learned they'd be going on the same romantic date in which Jade and Tanner started to fall in love. Ashley wished Jared would figure out Caila was "a little piece of sh-t."

Meanwhile, Jen was hoping Nick would open up to her because he had his walls up. She needed to hear some reassurance from him about his feelings, because she was certainly developing real and genuine feelings for him. Jen wanted to progress their relationship rather than back off from it.

Nick said he felt "less cautious" with Jen in Paradise than he had been with anyone else. However, Nick was understandably self-conscious about almost getting engaged to two different girls who dumped him. If he jumped in again, Nick worried he'd become a Trivial Pursuit question.

Nick didn't want to be a joke or look like a fool, but Jen promised him the only way he could become a joke is by not giving love a chance on this show. Jen had no intention of ever hurting Nick.

On Jared and Caila's dinner date by a waterfall/lagoon, Caila said it wasn't helping their relationship to have to walk around on eggshells in front if Ashley. Jared completely agreed and said he didn't want to scare Caila away. She assured him that she wasn't going anywhere.

The couple then kissed in the rain and went into the water together in their underwear. They had a very steamy makeout session and Caila could see herself falling in love in Paradise. She had hope of living out the same fairy-tale ending as Jade and Tanner.

Jared said he knew what former Bachelor Ben Higgins was talking about because Caila had this quality about her that made her "incredibly sexy." He was excited for the future with Caila.

Back at the home base, Ashley felt hopeless and said it would be a nightmare for Jared and Caila to fall in love. Ashley complained about how she's not sexy compared to Caila and then said she "might die" over the thought of the pair getting physical in the Fantasy Suite this season.

Meanwhile, Carly and Evan continued to get to know each other better. They had built a strong friendship at this point, but Carly still needed more. She wanted to see "a little swag" from him in order to push her past the friend-zone. Carly wasn't sure if she could fall completely for Evan.

Luckily, a Date Card then arrived for Evan. He and Carly participated in an ancient ceremony, which was very spiritual and focused on love and uniting as a couple. Evan told Carly during the ceremony that he was thankful she accepted all of him, even his crazy, and that her heart is really beautiful.

The words brought tears to Carly's eyes, and she realized she SHOULD accept Evan for his crazy because he certainly embraced her crazy side. Carly also thought she looked her worst yet, but Evan stared at her as if she was the most beautiful woman on earth -- like she was radiating.

Carly then determined she was feeling what she hoped to feel for Evan. She told the bachelor how he's managed to surprise her and she continues to fall for him more and more every day.

"It blows my mind that I like him so much and that he's not what I expected, but I think there's so much beauty in that," Carly told the cameras. "I am so attracted to him as a human being and his soul, and that's making him different to me -- on the outside as well."

Carly added that she got her "lady boner" back.

After Jared and Caila's date, Ashley called Caila "a disloyal bitch." Ashley then tried to get a reaction out of Jared, saying she was his "main chick" and knew how to get inside of his head.

Ashley then warned Jared it was obvious to everyone that he was more into Caila than the other way around. Jared said he realized that but was trying not to think about it and just move forward. Jared noted it was hard, and then Ashley called Caila a robot, saying she just wanted her happy TV ending.

Jared was convinced Ashley's warning was coming from a place of friendship rather than jealousy. He trusted her.

Ashley succeeded in rocking Jared a little bit because he talked to Caila about it afterwards. Jared told Caila that Ashley had warned him "to be careful," and then Caila promised Jared she really liked him and loved spending time with him. Caila hated the idea of Ashley putting concerns in Jared's head.

Caila then decided to tell Ashley how much she liked Jared because they couldn't be happy together with Ashley in the way. Ashley snipped that Jared would never trust Caila more than herself, and Caila noted it wasn't right for other people to question whether her feelings were real.

Caila could feel the tension and knew it would always be there unless Ashley manages to move on. Caila told Ashley that although she was hesitant in dating right now, her feelings for Jared were real.

But Ashley still wanted to "scratch her eyes out," especially when Caila used the word "we" to describe herself and Jared as a pair. Caila accused Ashley of wanting to sabotage others just to entertain herself, and the episode concluded right there.
