HOME > The Apprentice 3'Apprentice 3' runner-up Tana Goertz: "It was all bull****"When she was still fighting for a chance to be Donald Trump's newest employee during Thursday's live The Apprentice 3 finale, finalist Tana Goertz claimed to have learned a lesson from her unprofessional badmouthing of the eliminated contestants who had helped her execute her final task. However, based on the 37-year-old Iowa resident's behavior in the 24-hour period that followed her Trump firing, it would appear as though whatever lesson Tana learned, it had little to do with recognizing the inappropriateness of such behavior.
Showing no recognition that anything other than her lack of a college degree might have been responsible for Trump's decision to select 26-year-old college-educated Kendra Todd as The Apprentice 3's winner, Tana came out firing during the interview, stating that she was naive to believe that Trump would ever select a "street smart" contestant to work for him. Combative and agitated, Tana didn't mince words, telling her interviewer that "it was all bull****" in a statement that the Des Moines Register noted might have resulted in an FCC fine for the station had the live interview not aired after 10PM. Nearly 24 hours later, Tana once again showed few signs of decorum during a Friday afternoon taping of a Late Night with Conan O'Brien appearance that aired Friday evening (milking the show for all they could, NBC flew Kendra to Los Angeles for an appearance on Friday night's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, with runner-up Tana appearing on the later Conan show.) Exiting from behind stage with more of the fist pumping that punctuated her Apprentice finale appearance, Tana wasted little time resuming her badmouthing -- but this time, rather than target her fellow eliminated contestants, she went straight after Trump and the woman to which she lost. Speaking of Trump, she told Conan that "He wants a 'yes sir'[person and] I'm not the 'yes sir' girl, I'm going to tell it like it is and he saw what he was getting with me and he didn't want me so god bless." "That was why Kendra won," she added. "What you see is what you get with me, I'm not going to be the type of person to stroke you" -- a comment that would appear to be in conflict with the "mistake" comments she made to Trump right up until the moment she was fired. Apparently not done taking her shots at Kendra and the man that only 24 hours earlier, she had professed to want to work for, Tana continued. "What I meant by that is that I don't want to stroke somebody's ego to get a job." "I will get a job on my merits, my skills, my brains... whatever else it takes to get a job -- but I'm just not gonna blow smoke up somebody's ass to get a job." Seemingly bitter about everything associated with her Apprentice appearance, Tana even managed to work a mention of her resentment of the show's memorable Pontiac Solstice task into her Conan appearance. "Hey, I'd be plugging Pontiac, but we don't want to go there now, do we," she remarked after being chided by Conan for plugging the Chevrolet Avalanche vehicle that her tornado-chasing meteorologist husband drives (and around which Tana was hoping to launch a stormchaser tour business.) Not done with making the most of her appearance, Tana ended her interview by telling Conan that she had a children's book that she wanted to give the late night host's daughter. After Conan replied with a polite thank you, Tana revealed the true motivation behind her seemingly altruistic gift. "I wrote and self-published a children's book called I'm Bigger Than This and you can get it on my website but I'm giving you one tonight," she explained. "Wow, it's a gift and a plug for you -- incredible," remarked the sarcastic host. "HeyTana.com, can you believe it?" gushed Tana. "Ya, I can" remarked Conan as he closed the interview.
