By Reality TV World staff, 12/16/2002

'American Idol' finalist Tamyra Gray will begin shooting a four-episode arc on the FOX series BOSTON PUBLIC (Mondays, 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on Friday, December 20th.

Tamyra will be playing 'Aisha,' a shy girl with an amazing, powerful voice, who is discovered by Marylin Sudor (Sharon Leal). With Marylin's mentoring, Aisha wins the lead in the school musical. But with her newfound popularity, her life becomes complicated when her controlling boyfriend becomes jealous. Throughout her four-episode arc, beginning on Monday, February. 17th, Aisha will find not only her voice in music, but also her voice in life.

"We're thrilled to have Tamyra join the cast for four episodes later this season," said executive producer of the series, Jason Katims. "She gave a very impressive audition and while it's possible her character will sing, we are most interested in helping to launch her as a dramatic actress."

Gray is 23 years old and from Atlanta, Georgia. She is represented by 19 Entertainment's Simon Fuller and CAA.

BOSTON PUBLIC is produced by David E. Kelley Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television. David E. Kelley is creator/executive consultant; Jason Katims and Jonathan Pontell are executive producers.
