American Idol ousted Majesty Rose during Thursday night's live results show on Fox, determining the thirteenth season's Top 8 finalists.
 
Majesty, a 21-year-old from Goldsboro, NC, became the fifth finalist sent home from American Idol's thirteenth season after she received the fewest home viewer votes cast following Wednesday night's performance show, which featured the Top 9 finalists performing rock royalty songs for a theme dubbed "I'm With The Band."

Idol judges Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban decided against using their one "The Judges' Save" of the season on her after she sang for survival. Majesty landed in the bottom three alongside Sam Woolf and C.J. Harris.

During a Friday conference call with reporters, Majesty talked to Reality TV World about some interesting comments Jennifer had made and whether she found out any details regarding the judges' deliberation on their save.

Reality TV World: How surprised were you that the judges didn't use their save on you and do you have any idea who might've been gunning for you to stay? I know Keith mentioned the decision was not unanimous by "a narrow, narrow margin."

Majesty Rose: Well, I mean, I'm really not trying to think about that. (Laughs) At this point, I'm really just trying to not be sad or anything. But let me think. I was surprised that -- yeah. I was surprised that they didn't save me, but I think every person was probably surprised. Because we're all really good, but I understand that they're in a really tough position.

So whoever it was that didn't save me, I can understand. It's not like I was absolutely perfect or anything. (Laughs) Yeah, it's not like I was like, "Man, I deserve that save more than anybody else!" We all had worked so hard and it was really hard to be in this competition. So yeah, I can't say that I deserved it more than anybody else.

Reality TV World: Throughout the season, the judges have been saying you needed to be more comfortable and confident when performing, and this week, they agreed you were well on your way to do that. But the judges also brought up a few times how you had some issues vocally. Would you say it was just a lack of experience that contributed to that or maybe it was just a nerves issue you were dealing with?

Majesty Rose: I wasn't so nervous this time. I think it was experience because I do like to dance and sing at the same time, but it's something new. It's something that I just found that I love a lot to do.

And I actually got to talk to Janelle Monae a lot before and after the show. She was like, "Give me tips on how to do that!" Because she does that all the time. So I'm going to work on that from now until tour, and I'll be polished one of these days!

Reality TV World: During last night's show, Jennifer Lopez also admitted that when she watched the tape of Wednesday night's performance show back, one of the bottom three members -- so, either yourself, Sam Woolf or C.J. Harris -- did a better job than she originally thought when critiquing everybody. What went through your mind in that moment? And do you have any insight on whom she was probably talking about?

Majesty Rose: Yeah, that was strange when she said that. I did feel like she was talking about me, which is fine. I mean, I'm not a perfect singer and performer yet. I'm just kind of an amateur. (Laughs)  But I mean, it didn't really phase me at all. At that point, I was like, "Whatever happens, happens."

Reality TV World:  The girls in the competition seem to be on the path of getting wiped out. Only Jena Irene, Malaya Watson and Jessica Meuse remain -- but both Jena and Malaya have landed in the bottom three at least one time. So what are your thoughts on that and why do you think Jessica is the only girl who's been pretty much safe week to week?

Majesty Rose: I don't know! I don't know what America thinks. It's really random, because they're all really good -- very powerful, nice voices. And Jess, she -- I think she just really knows who she is as an artist.

I mean, she's played in so many places and she's so well-rounded with that. So I think she's going to do her thing, and I just hope she doesn't get in the bottom ever, because she's extraordinary to me.

Reality TV World: Jennifer also admitted at the beginning of Wednesday night's performance show she regretted not using The Judges' Save on M.K. Nobilette last week. Did that surprise you? Did you talk about that at all after the show?

Majesty Rose: Oh, I didn't hear her say that actually! I didn't hear.

Reality TV World: So hearing that news now, does that surprise you? Were you thinking at the time of M.K.'s last performance she'd be saved?

Majesty Rose: I don't know. I mean, it just seems like we're all good at this point, and I know the save is like a hard thing to kind of have, you know what I'm saying? You only get one, so I don't know who they'll use it on.

But it's just like, I hope they do use it. But when they do use it, it's going to be like, "Wow, thanks a lot." (Laughs) You know what I'm saying?! Everybody's so good. I just couldn't pick a favorite at all. Everybody's really good.

Also during the call, Majesty talked to reporters about what's the best advice she received all season, why she seemed so happy and excited to sing for the save, and whether she thought there was something in her performances viewers just couldn't connect with.

What's the best advice you've gotten from either the judges or Randy Jackson?

Majesty Rose: Well, I think just recently when they were saying, when I get on that stage, I have to like center myself and really [relax] and take some deep breaths. Because seriously, when I get out there and the crowd is out there, they really do just like hearing me, you know?

And that's why, I think, I can almost  get off on my vocals and stuff. But I think that's what I'm going to work on the most, like from now until tour.

You seemed really exciting to be singing for the save. You demanded the microphone, you were spinning around. What was that all about?

Majesty Rose: What was that all about. (Laughs) I was truly happy and I had to make a quick decision to be happy at that moment, because seriously, I had to just be grateful for how far I already made it.

And I wasn't even thinking about the judges and whether they would save me or not. I was just thinking about, "Right now, I'm going to sing for myself and just be really proud of how far I've made it." And so, I think I did a really good job of that, and the crowd was really into it and stuff. (Laughs)

When Ryan Seacrest announced you were getting eliminated, you said, "I knew it!" Were you at all surprised to be eliminated?

Majesty Rose: I was surprised to be eliminated, but I wasn't surprised that I would sing for the save. For some reason, I just kind of had a feeling, like when the show started. I don't know why though -- probably because I pray a lot, so I think God told me. (Laughs)

So yeah, I was surprised that I got eliminated, but I mean, right when they said they decided not to save me, I was at peace. It was just like, "It's fine. I made it this far and I'm not 'the' American Idol but I made my mark on that show and I think I make a lot of other stamps in my culture."

You kept finding yourself in the bottom three. Do you think there was something that wasn't connecting with home viewers?

Majesty Rose: I haven't really thought about that, because usually when I pick my songs and I'm singing them, I'm not really thinking about what America will like. I'm thinking about what I would like, you know?

Because it's really about me, like, I'm not singing for America. Yes, they're the ones voting for me, but really, this is my time to present myself. And so, I think about what would make me most happy and most comfortable. So I really made myself proud.

What type of music do you see yourself making once the tour is over? Is there a style or an artist that you would compare yourself to?

Majesty Rose: Well, I think it would be a mix of the acoustic stuff, like I really do love Coldplay. And then, it would be like the happy-type music and how Janelle Monae is like dancing around and stuff like that. I would love to be that way. And man, my CD will be like really inspiring, like you would laugh one minute and then the next minute you'd cry. It'd be like a rollercoaster. (Laughs)
