Alex Woytkiw was eliminated on his one-on-one date with The Bachelorette star JoJo Fletcher when a rose wasn't even on the table, so host Chris Harrison isn't surprised the U.S. Marine got angry.

Woytkiw had been anticipating a one-on-one date with Fletcher all season long, and he finally got it during Monday night's episode of The Bachelorette, which filmed in Argentina. He felt he had a lot to prove to Fletcher, especially since he survived the prior Rose Ceremony by the skin of his teeth.

"Alex was understandably confused," Harrison wrote in his Yahoo! TV blog, referencing how Fletcher gave both Woytkiw and James Taylor pity roses when she was supposed to choose between them in the episode that aired two weeks ago.

"But he did make the most of his time with JoJo and didn't dwell too much on the past," Harrison continued. "It's important to try and let go of the external forces that are getting to you during a journey such as this, so you can really hone in and focus on the relationship you are building."

For their date, Woytkiw and Fletcher rode horses and then watched a gaucho tame a horse into a completely submissive state.

"You have to be relaxed, and if anyone can teach you how to relax, it's that horse that was resting comfortably beneath JoJo and Alex in that beautiful field. It was one of the more bizarre sights I'd ever seen, but now that horse know what it's like to watch The Bachelorette on TV. There is a lot of close up kissing," Harrison said.

But as fun as the day was, Harrison noted that the date "took a sad turn" for Woytkiw. Woytkiw admitted to the Bachelorette he was falling in love with her, only to get dumped seconds later.

"It's hard to say what happened when he told JoJo his feelings, but something in her head just told her it was time to say goodbye. Obviously it was a huge shock, as there were no roses on the one-on-one dates this week," Harrison explained.

"This breakup was a little different. Alex was clearly very angry, and it's hard to blame him. It's not that JoJo did anything wrong, but when you tell someone you are falling in love with them and they immediately break up with you, anger is definitely one of the things you'd be feeling."

Harrison is definitely curious to catch up with Woytkiw about the chain of events in the near future.

"I don't know how Alex feels looking back at his goodbye now, but I look forward to hearing from him at the Men Tell All. Seeing him talk to JoJo for the first time since that night should be very interesting," Harrison wrote.
