The video was helmed by "Wedding Crashers" director David Dobkin, and sees frontman Adam Levine and bandmates Jesse Carmichael, Matt Flynn, P.J. Morton and James Valentine make surprise appearances at several Los Angeles weddings in December.

"It was a lot of fun," Levine told "Entertainment Tonight." "It felt good to kind of surprise these people and make them happy. Happy that they liked our band, too. If would have been a total disaster [if not]."

"It was an out of body experience," he reflected in a press release. "I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all."

"Sugar" is the third single released from Maroon 5's fifth studio album, "V." The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and includes the singles "Maps" and "Animals."

The dark and bloody music video for "Animals" caused controversy upon its premiere in September.
