Andrew, a 32-year-old daycare owner and operator from Roseville, CA, met Amira, a 28-year-old from Saumur, France, on an international dating website.

After the pair only spent three days together in Las Vegas, Andrew proposed marriage to his half-French, half-Egyptian love interest, and Amira believed at the time Andrew would "move heaven and earth" for her and treat her like a princess.

Amira finally received her K-1 visa after more than one year of waiting, but at that point, she couldn't travel to America due to a travel ban put in place amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple therefore decided to travel to Mexico as "a loophole," where they could quarantine for 14 days and then try to enter the United States together.

Amira confessed she wanted to stay patient until the U.S. reopened its borders but she was feeling pressure from Andrew to travel to Mexico, which her father insisted was not love.

"He said if I don't do the trip, he's going to resent me forever," Amira revealed.

Once Amira landed in Mexico, she was unfortunately detained right at the airport and had her passport and phone taken away from her.

Andrew had no idea what was going on or how to find out where Amira was located, and he said he felt helpless. He was shown researching, calling authorities and tracking down immigration centers.

After three days in detainment, Amira was put on a flight back to Amsterdam, and she was pretty distraught about the whole experience.

"Nobody deserves to go through that... I had no dignity. They just want us to feel like we are nothing," Amira lamented, adding that being detained was "the worst nightmare" of her life.

Andrew said he recognized Amira had been traumatized, but he still suggested that Amira travel to Serbia next and try to quarantine there for 14 days before flying to the U.S. Andrew said he couldn't join Amira in Serbia because of his work requirements.

In July 2020, Amira's father called Andrew "a coward" and said if Amira traveled to Serbia, he wouldn't speak to her again.

Amira said she was "heartbroken" that her father was threatening to end their relationship, and she felt totally "torn" in between her dad and her love.

To make Andrew happy, Amira agreed to go to Serbia and lived in a hotel for two weeks despite alleged riots in the street and a lack of options for food amid COVID-19 around her hotel.

With 15 days until Amira's K-1 visa was going to expire, Amira said she wanted to be a mother one day but "not right now" because she and Andrew fought too much.

Andrew felt Amira was saying the nature of their relationship wasn't worth bringing children into and he's "not material for fatherhood," which he didn't believe or appreciate.

When Amira was supposed to get on a plane to come to the United States, she texted Andrew saying that she never got on the flight and had a panic attack. The couple only had four days to marry.

Andrew lamented to his mother, "I think that I failed. I think I f-cked it up."

About 24 hours earlier in Belgrade, Serbia, Amira was shown having an emotional breakdown in her hotel room.

"I thought he was a good person to me. I thought he was The One," Amira cried hysterically.

Amira said Andrew had called her and picked a fight just a few hours before she was supposed to board her plane to the U.S. to finally reunite with Andrew.

"He's telling me, 'It's not working out between us. We are not on the same page about having children.' I am so hurt right now because Andrew is the man I want to spend my whole life with," Amira recalled.

Amira said Andrew had been yelling at her and sending "mean" text messages, which left her feeling "in shock."

"I'm telling him, 'I love you and you know that,' and he's not stopping. And then he texted me a ticket to go to Paris," Amira claimed.

Andrew told Amira to choose a flight to America or a flight back to France, adding, "I don't care [which you choose]."

Andrew added, "The children at the daycare are far better team players. You make your choices." He allegedly told Amira that she'd be greeted by "an angry fiance" in America.

"Nothing makes sense anymore. I feel really completely lost. I phone my dad because I'm just feeling like I'm at a dead end," Amira said.

Amira claimed Andrew asked her to send her engagement ring back rather than convince her to get on the plane and so she decided to return to France and their relationship was over.

Andrew's mother felt Amira had "bait and switched" her son.

Andrew believed Amira's decision was "a culmination of many things," and he admitted to feeling "a profound sense of defeat."

Andrew said if he and Amira still wanted to be together, he'd have to reapply for her K-1 visa and that would be too much. Andrew resigned himself to thinking he and Amira simply didn't have their chance to be happy.

Amira, now back in France, called her trip to Serbia "a wake-up call" because she realized that she and Andrew were "not meant to be."

Amira said Andrew pressured her to have children "right away" and "that's not love," and she decided to work on loving herself more and putting her focus back on her studies.

Amira noted in a confessional, "And I don't want to talk to Andrew ever again. I am not willing to let him control me ever again!"

On Part 1 of 90 Day Fiance's eighth-season Tell-All special, Amira refused to talk to Andrew via videochat from Europe and Andrew walked off the set in frustration, saying he wasn't going to stick around if he couldn't even talk to Amira and share his side of the story with her listening.

Andrew called the situation "unfair," and in a preview for Part 2, Amira says she had seen Andrew back on the same dating websites where they had first met.

So where does Amira and Andrew's relationship stand now after they split up on 90 Day Fiance's eighth season?

Andrew conducted a Q&A session on his Instagram Story on April 15 and made some comments suggesting he and Amira still aren't on good terms.

"There were definitely red flags, but when you love somebody, you ignore them and overlook the things that you should probably be paying attention to," Andrew told one of his followers.

"So, lessons learned... [I feel] played... I felt like I got done dirty."

About one week earlier, Andrew also accused Amira of lying about the reason for their breakup, insisting Amira's claim that they had opposing views on having children wasn't the real problem.

Andrew unleashed a series of nearly 20 screenshots on his Instagram Story of alleged text-messages he had exchanged with Amira before and during her 14-day quarantine in Serbia.

During his April 10 Instagram Story postings, Andrew insisted the argument 90 Day Fiance viewers saw on the show's eighth season "was not about kids AT ALL" and he and Amira broke up because Amira had suddenly "acquired an agent and was demanding money."

Andrew had allegedly texted Amira, "Good luck to you Amira! I thought we could be a team but I was obviously wrong. Go get whatever [you're] looking for!"

Andrew captioned the alleged texts, "Not my proudest moment, I could have and should have done better. I apologize to all who were triggered by that scene."

Although Andrew was clearly upset, he apparently still offered to help Amira "sort out a ticket" to fly back home to France from Serbia.

"I was very angry, surrounded by the children at work, and my fiancee was pulling a confusing last minute money play. Paying for her ticket was a kindness, I was upset but still wanted her to get home safe," Andrew wrote on one of the screenshots.

Andrew also posted screenshots that appeared to show him texting a 90 Day Fiance field producer and attempting to suddenly cancel that day's filming plans after Amira "got some agent in Serbia" and had emailed him demanding "payment."

"It's all madness to me," Andrew allegedly texted the field producer, who convinced Andrew to keep filming.

In addition to screenshots of texts, Andrew also posted what appeared to be ticket receipts showing he had also originally purchased an airline ticket that would have allowed Amira's father Hamdi to fly to Serbia with her and stay there with her before her eventual flight to America.

However, according Andrew's postings, Amira texted Andrew on July 7, 2020 revealing that Hamdi would no longer be able to accompany her to Serbia because he had been hospitalized with hypertension and diabetes issues.

Amira allegedly told Andrew to "just pretend like [you] don't know anything" and act like they hadn't already been chatting before an upcoming videochat session that was going to be filmed by 90 Day Fiance's producers.

"She was playing me to her narrative," Andrew wrote on one of his screenshots.

According to the alleged text messages, Andrew ultimately canceled Hamdi's flights due to his poor health.

Andrew claimed Amira ultimately determined she was fine with traveling to Serbia alone and he had "offered multiple times" to join her there and she "refused."

In addition, the alleged texts also showed Amira gushing about the "amazing" four-star hotel and the surrounding area after arriving in Serbia.

"She insisted on this hotel!" Andrew wrote on a screenshot of their alleged text exchanges. "It was well reviewed... highly rated, centrally located, and steps away from a Sephora."

Amira also allegedly gushed about her food options nearby and pointed out her hotel was "well located."

In early April, Amira posted a photo of herself in a sexy corset and captioned it, "Your worth is not measured by the actions of others."

In late March, Amira hinted she's single and her relationship with Andrew is over because she captioned another sexy photo of herself in denim, "Finding myself again."

Amira also reposted a fan's tweet saying the France native had rightly followed her gut and intuition by not flying to the U.S. and ultimately dodged a bullet with Andrew.

Once her breakup with Andrew aired on 90 Day Fiance's eighth season, Amira wrote in a series of tweets, "I did everything for him and yet it was never ever enough! I was never enough."

"I just wish he would leave me alone and he and his mom would stop cyber bullying me. When will I get free? #toxicrelationshipsurvivor," she added.

"We never fully realize how abusive the relationship is until we are out of it! At first I got lost in his eyes, then I lost myself in my relationship. I spent the last two years apologizing over and over again. Today I'm unapologetic!"

On March 1, Amira also reposted a screenshot of an In Touch Weekly tweet in which the magazine tweeted, "'You look like an ugly piece of mud that is rubber all over the wall. Just like your personality and morals,' read a comment Andrew's mother allegedly left on a recent photo of Amira."

The @FraudedMedia Instagram account had captured the initial screenshot of Lori's message that has since been deleted.

Amira reportedly said she was "so shocked" and had "no words" about Lori's post. She also added the hashtags "#90dayfiancedrama," "stopbullying" and "stopracism" to her repost.

90 Day Fiance's Season 8 cast apparently traveled to Los Angeles, CA, to film the show's Tell-All in late February.

On February 28, Jovi Dufren took to his Instagram Story and seemed to take Andrew's side in his breakup with Amira.

"Who else thinks Amira is lying about Andrew[?]" Jovi wrote, according to In Touch. "I just think she wants to be on TV [man shrugging shoulders emoticon."

Amira reportedly responded by saying she respected and valued Jovi's opinion.

"That makes me very sad [though]," Amira responded in her own Instagram Story. "I wish you all the best and a lot of happiness. [Praying hands emoji]."

Hours later, Andrew reportedly reposted Jovi's statement and seemed to agree with the belief Amira had used him to be on television.

"Thank you [praying hands emoji] Jovi and [Yara Zaya] for your skeptical eye and honesty. In a world full of misinformation, the truth means a lot," Andrew wrote, according to In Touch.

Back in January, Andrew let off a lot of steam and anger about the apparent failure of his long-distance relationship.

Andrew slammed Amira on social media at the time saying she's a "fame hungry liar" and posted receipts trying to prove he's telling the truth.

Amira told 90 Day Fiance cameras she never wanted to go to Mexico to begin with but Andrew had been pushing the plans as a way for her to prove her love for him. Amira said Andrew would have been "resentful" if she hadn't agreed to the trip.

But Andrew took to his Instagram Stories and posted screenshots of alleged text messages that show Andrew had actually told his fiancee to make the decision about Mexico on her own.

"Here is the truth: Amira was the one to make the decision, she was on the forum, she bought the ticket, chose the date, and much more! Want to see something interesting? Ask for her detention paperwork?" Andrew wrote on the screenshots.

"Your heart ain't what I always knew. Choose who you want to believe -- I've shown you actual evidence in these texts, and it's laughable if you just want to ignore what is written on an official government document. My integrity is worth way more than a silly tv show. No need for fame, lip fillers, or filters here. Y'all never met a real one like me."

"OR you can believe a fame hungry liar," Andrew continued in his rant, "who has every reason to be in lock-step to achieve that fame."

Andrew also insisted he never wanted to star on 90 Day Fiance to begin with.

"All I ever did was support someone else's dream!!" he wrote. "My presence on your screen is even further proof of that. I honestly never needed or wanted this show haha. Keep that in mind when you decide who you believe."

Andrew also previously called Amira a "BAD LIAR" and bashed her claim that the pair hadn't communicated once she returned to France after being detained in Mexico City for three days because Andrew was busy having too much fun on his vacation.

"We talked everyday when she was released! Calls and texts!" Andrew wrote in his Instagram Stories, before sharing screenshots of their alleged conversations during that time.

In response to criticism Andrew never hired a translator to help him find Amira when she was detained, Andrew assured his followers, "I DID... I got a good one!"
