The untitled memoir is described as the late singer's "unabridged and unbelievable story" and is set for release in February, EW.com said.

"When I lost my daughter Nippy [Whitney Houston's nickname], the world lost one of the most beautiful voices and an extraordinarily beautiful and charitable woman," Cissy Houston said in a statement.

"In sharing our story in this book, I hope to give her fans something to treasure, the way we all treasured Whitney. We are still receiving thousands of letters each day from her fans, and I hope reading this book will provide a deeper understanding into my daughter's true story."

Whitney Houston accidentally drowned in a hotel bathtub Feb. 11 after using cocaine. She was 48.

Last month, Lifetime announced it had ordered 10 hour-long episodes of "The Houston Family Chronicles."

In addition to Whitney Houston's mother Cissy and daughter Bobbi Kristina, the reality series is also expected to feature Houston's sister-in-law and manager Pat Houston, her husband Gary and their daughter Rayah.
