Padma Lakshmi has a very special bun in the oven.

The Top Chef host is pregnant with her first child after years of struggling with endometriosis, her representative told Us Weekly in a Thursday report.

"As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle," Lakshmi's representative told Us.

"Due to its delicate nature, we ask/implore the press to respect Ms. Lakshmi's privacy at this time."

Endometriosis is the development of uterine-lining tissue outside the uterus on the surfaces of organs in the pelvis or abdomen (such as the ovaries and appendix) where they are not supposed to grow, and it can lead to infertility.

It is a common medical condition found in 5-10% of women of reproductive age around the world, and Dancing with the Stars professionals Julianne Hough and Lacy Schwimmer were both diagnosed with it late last year.

Earlier this year, the 39-year-old Lakshmi co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America to create awareness about the health issue.

Lakshmi got divorced from Nobel Prize-winning author Salman Rushdie in 2007 after three years of marriage and the baby's father has not been revealed.

Despite speculation that Manu Nathan is the baby's father, Lakshmi's representative denied it and told Us Nathan and Lakshmi are actually cousins.
