The Voice coach Blake Shelton certainly offered up some hilarious phrases when critiquing Cee Lo Green's team member Caroline Pennell during Tuesday night's performance broadcast of the show's fifth season.

Pennell, a teen from Saddle River, NJ, took the stage with a "mesmerizing" rendition of "We're Going to be Friends" by The White Stripes.

"I don't know what it is about Caroline, but I could literally be getting an amputation and if someone was playing her music and she was singing, all I'd be thinking about is cotton candy," Shelton explained.

"And I don't know what it is about you, but it is mesmerizing, and I don't know, you could've been singing about killing people and I would've been up here wanting to skip around on the stage. It's crazy!"

"Quit while you're ahead!" coach Adam Levine jokingly hollered out. "Maybe let's just tighten it up."

"Should I have stopped at amputation? I should've left it at amputation," Shelton said.

Pennell's coach Green summed up everyone's comments, saying she sounded "wonderful" and very "sweet."
