The Voice continued its twelfth-season "The Battle Round" with several impressive performances during Tuesday night's one-hour broadcast on NBC.

On the second night of Battles, The Voice coaches Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton selected a total of six Battle winners: Johnny Gates from Providence, RI; Chris Blue from Knoxville, TN; Josh West from Glendale, AZ; Aaliyah Rose from Provo, UT; Andrea Thomas from Fortworth, TX; and Aliyah Moulden from La Habra, CA.

When the above artists were declared victorious, the contestants sent home were Sammie Zonana from Austin, TX; RJ Collins from Chicago, IL; Nala Price from Sebring, FL; Micah Tryba from Wheaton, IL; and Savannah Leighton from Spring Garden, AL.

During "The Battle Round," a coach pairs two of his or her team members up against one another to sing a duet. The artists attempt to stand out and deliver a better performance than their opponents. In this round, each coach is allowed two "steals," meaning an artist who loses a face-off may be stolen by a different coach so he or she can resume competing on The Voice.

One lucky artist was stolen in last night's broadcast, and that person was Dawson Coyle from Williamstown, NJ.

The night began with Gwen and her team adviser Celine Dion matching up Johnny and Sammie for a Battle in which they had to sing "I Drove All Night."

Gwen said both artists made the song their own. She loved Sammie's beautiful voice and spirit, but Johnny is her "Italian homie" and she said there's no one like him who comes from his point of view musically, which will be important to have on her team going forward. As a result, Johnny won the Battle and Sammie was eliminated.

Gwen also paired Aaliyah Rose and Savannah for a Battle in which they had to perform "Treat You Better." In the end, Aliyah won.

In another Battle, Alicia -- who is working with DJ Khaled as her team adviser -- matched Chris and RJ for a performance of "Adorn."

Alicia complimented RJ's emotion while singing, but the coach had been waiting for Chris in "The Blind Auditions." Alicia eventually declared Chris the winner of the Battle because of his versatility and the pair hadn't even scratched the surface of his potential yet.

Adam, whose team adviser is John Legend, then paired Josh and Nala for a Battle in which they were asked to sing "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." Adam decided Josh should move forward to "The Knockout Round."

Last night featured two separate Battles for Blake's team, which has Luke Bryan as its adviser. The first was Andrea against Micah, and the pair sang "What Hurts the Most." The coach ultimately wanted to keep Andrea on his team.

Aliyah Moulden then performed "Walking On Sunshine" in a Battle against Dawson.

Blake said Dawson's momentum was starting to build, and Aliyah brought a special energy to the table.

Both artists brought youthfulness and fun, but Blake decided to go with his gut and name Aliyah the winner because the coach always gets wrapped up in her performances.

However, Alicia chose to steal Dawson for her team because she felt his "pure and strong" energy and explained he'd have his "own world" on her team since there's no one like him. Alicia also joked ladies will probably "eat him up alive" this season.
