"The Simple Life" star and heiress Paris Hilton pleaded no contest Monday to one count of alcohol-related reckless driving, the Los Angeles City Attorney's office said.

A judge placed Hilton on 36 months' probation and ordered her to pay a $390 fine plus penalties, Eonline.com said. Hilton was not in the courtroom.

The charge to which Hilton pleaded was a lesser offense than the two more serious DUI charges she pleaded not guilty to last week.

Hilton's troubles began Sept. 7, when she was arrested after leaving a Hollywood charity concert. Reports said Hilton was spotted driving in an erratic fashion and, after being stopped, blew .08 on a breathalyzer test. California law defines drunkenness as having a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above.

At the time, Hilton said she wasn't drunk, just hungry and driving to get something to eat.
