Richards was arrested and charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer, Us Weekly reported.

Richards, a 50-year-old recovering alcoholic, was arrested early Thursday morning after she allegedly confronted a police officer drunk and refused to cooperate. She later kicked an officer at the police station.

Richards was reportedly cuffed at the Beverly Hills Hotel and taken into custody at 1:30AM because of her inappropriate behavior at the hotel's restaurant.

According to Beverly Hills Police Department spokesperson Lieutenant Lincoln Hoshino, Richards "had too much to drink and was disturbing some of the other patrons," Us reported.

Hotel security asked Richards to leave but she reportedly refused and then entered a restroom, where she stayed until forced out. TMZ reported authorities had to "drag her out" of the bathroom and she was completely belligerent, slurring her speech.

"Hotel security requested to make a Private Persons Arrest and BHPD officers entered the restroom and took her into custody," Hoshino continued. "She was passively resisting and she was taken into custody on Private Person Arrest."

Richards, who fell back into the habit of abusing alcohol during the fifth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, was issued a citation at the police station and then released. She will appear in court May 10.
