The Golden Bachelor star Mel Owens has teased the ending of his season, saying it's going to be "so good" that viewers "won't believe it."

Mel is nearing the end of his journey to find love on the ABC reality dating series, and according to the Season 2 The Golden Bachelor star, fans are in for a surprise finale.

"It's so brilliant... It's so good, you won't believe it," Mel told Us Weekly in an interview.

"You won't believe how we get there, not mechanically, but how we get there emotionally," he clarified. "There's some movement and twists and turns."

Mel's Final 3 bachelorettes were Cindy Angelcyk Cullers, a 60-year-old retired biomedical engineer from Austin, TX; Debbie Siebers, a 65-year-old fitness professional from Denver, CO; and Peg Munson, a 62-year-old retired firefighter and bomb tech from Las Vegas, NV.

The magazine -- who interviewed Mel in person -- reported that the 66-year-old attorney and former NFL player's face lit up when talking about The Golden Bachelor finale.

"ABC can put on a production. We go to Antigua. I've never been there. I've been to islands, but I've never been there. But whoever scouted it out and set it up and got things prepared, just the little details, it's just so good," Mel teased.

"You have the setting, and I know who it is. It's really emotional. And you're a little nervous."

But Mel -- who said the hometown dates were "all great" -- admitted the final days of the process were "tough" on him.

"I'm just trying to figure out who is going to be the best fit for me, who I would enjoy," Mel shared.

"But there's that magnetism that pulls you in that direction no matter what, and it's a little bit more toward one person than the other, so I went with my gut."

Mel also said it helped him to write up a pros and cons list before the Final Rose Ceremony.

"I usually don't make those types of lists. I can do it in my head, but when you write stuff down, it's meaningful," Mel shared.

"I wanted to write down my first impressions, the goods, the bads, the neutrals. It really didn't sway me, but I could still look at it."

Earlier in The Golden Bachelor season, Mel told the cameras, "Is my wife here? Yes, I feel it in my heart."

But based on a season preview that aired at the end of The Golden Bachelor's premiere night, there are going to be a lot of tears.

And it appears one of Mel's finalists may quit on him, just like Carol Freeman.

"Jesse, it's tough. She left," Mel laments to Jesse.

"I know for a fact she's still here," Jesse responds.

While Mel clearly experienced some ups and downs on The Golden Bachelor, he noted during a September appearance on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast that the show was "a really good experience" overall and he feels "very good" about his life now.
