Since only one episode of his The Golden Bachelor season remains, Gerry spoke to actor Justin Long about how he was "pretty much" happy with the way his season was edited.

"I am in awe of the editing job that ABC did," Gerry said during a recent episode of the "Life is Short with Justin Long" podcast.

But Gerry revealed, "I think if I had my wish, some of the episodes would maybe go another 30 minutes. There is a little bit more of the backstory that would explain what's going on. But, I mean, they told the story pretty accurately."

Gerry apparently thinks 90-minute episodes would've done his season justice, especially since The Golden Bachelor featured 22 beautiful senior ladies, all with compelling stories to tell.

"I just wish it would've been a little fuller at times," Gerry admitted. "But no complaints."

The Golden Bachelor finale is going to include a live After the Final Rose segment in which Gerry will appear in public with his winner for the very first time and also confront his heartbroken runner-up.

At this point, only two women remain in the running for Gerry's final rose: Leslie Fhima, a 64-year-old fitness instructor from Minneapolis, MN, and Theresa Nist, a 69-year-old financial services professional from Shrewsbury, NJ.

Jesse teased to Us Weekly of what's to come, "I think this will be the most emotional AFR that the franchise has ever seen. I really believe it."

In a preview of the finale, Gerry cries to Jesse about having to crush a wonderful woman's heart who didn't deserve it. He can then be heard lamenting about how he hadn't felt that much pain and sadness since his wife, Toni, died in 2017.

Jesse apparently struggled to find the right words for Gerry given the grandfather was so torn up after his last breakup on the show with either Leslie or Theresa.

"For me, the only advice in those situations is just trying to reassure him that it's all going to be worth it and that there's an amazing woman that he gets to spend the rest of his life with on the other side of all of that," Jesse explained.

"But that was about as intense, as real and as raw as it gets."

Jesse went as far as to say that breakup conversation "was probably the most raw moment that I think I've been a part of since hosting the franchise."

Jesse began hosting The Bachelor franchise in 2021, long after starring on The Bachelor's fifth season in 2004.

Jesse suggested that Gerry's final choice was especially excruciating because Gerry had truly invested himself in each relationship and was able to compartmentalize his feelings for both Leslie and Theresa.

And in the end, Gerry fell in love with both women, who were, in turn, absolutely crazy about The Golden Bachelor star.

Jesse pointed out how it's hard to relate to a Bachelor or Bachelorette star unless you're in his or her shoes.

"I think navigating this part of the journey was something that I don't think he or anybody can really prepare for when you find yourself in these moments," Jesse reasoned.

And Jesse noted how Gerry had fallen in love with multiple women "in different ways."

The former The Bachelor star explained, "Throughout the course of the season, [the goodbyes are] easily the most difficult part. And I think it usually is for most leads, but I think people are really going to see an emotional goodbye come the finale that they just haven't seen yet. It's pretty intense."

But before Gerry makes his choice at the Final Rose Ceremony, Theresa and Leslie will meet his adult daughters, Jenny Young and Angie Warner, whom he loves "more than anything in the world," according to Jesse.

Jesse teased of the family meet and greets, "It's kind of an interesting dynamic. Normally, it's a Bachelor [or] Bachelorette meeting his parents and giving him advice. But Gerry has daughters who are adults and have their own families."

Jesse insisted that Gerry really respected his daughters' opinions, adding, "They know him better than anyone."

Jesse continued, "And I know he leans on them for advice and support throughout the whole thing. But it was very important for him obviously to have them meet the two women and give their feedback. And I know Gerry was very appreciative of it."

At the end of The Golden Bachelor's Fantasy Suites episode, Gerry revealed he had made his mind up about whether Leslie or Theresa was going to be the woman for him -- the person with whom he'll spend the rest of his life.

"Life with Leslie would be a very exciting life. She's adventurous. She looks out for me, and I look out for her. But Theresa and I have this bond. We know what the other person is feeling. We know what they've been through," Gerry told the cameras.
