The Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman has revealed she was truly impacted emotionally by the death of one of her bachelors, Eric Hill.

"When I heard the news, I was devastated," the tenth-season The Bachelorette star told People. "Shock, devastation, grief. It's something you never could have predicted [or] expected."

Dorfman reportedly reached out to Hill's family privately after learning the 32-year-old adventurer and extreme-sports enthusiast had been killed in an April 23 paragliding accident in Utah. Hill's death occurred after his stint on the show although the tragic news reached the show's cast and crew during filming.

Hill will still be featured in the upcoming season of The Bachelorette as if the accident didn't happen, according to People, but his passing will somehow be addressed.

"[Eric] was part of our family and I had just seen him. He was a member of our cast and we had an inherent bond. The [other contestants] shared that bond too. It was shocking and devastating to all of us and it's still a tough thing that we're going through," Dorfman explained.

"I will always remember Eric's love for life. People say, 'Oh he lived life to the fullest,' but Eric really was the epitome of someone who lived life to the fullest. This man had amazing stories and great experiences. His sense of adventure inspired not only me, but every guy in the house, every producer, every crew member. Everybody says they want to do stuff in their life but he was really doing it."

Dorfman also expressed what she had learned from her The Bachelorette experience.

"I learned that I'm a lot softer than I thought I was. I knew I had a tough shell, but I'm a softie inside," the reality TV star told the magazine.

As for whether her journey ended on a positive note, Dorfman simply noted, "I am happy. I'm excited for everyone to see how this turns out."

The Bachelorette's tenth season will premiere on Monday at 9:30PM ET/PT on ABC.
