"Demi and Mike's relationship isn't anything serious," the source said.

"Now that Demi has had ample time to get her life back on track, particularly from a sobriety perspective, she is broadening her horizons and starting to put herself out there a bit more."

Demi and Mike's romance began when the couple started flirting on Instagram and Twitter in July as Season 15 of The Bachelorette starring Hannah Brown was airing on ABC.

Later that month, Mike told Us he would "definitely take her out for an initial date," and then on September 13, the pair were spotted sharing a meal at the Beverly Hills restaurant La Scala.

Mike, 31, then reportedly confirmed a week later he went on a date with Demi, a 27-year-old, two-time Grammy nominee who also previously served as a judge on Fox's The X Factor singing competition.

Mike told Entertainment Tonight on September 18 Demi is "quite astounding" and "amazing," and apparently Demi is catching feelings for Mike as well.

"She thinks Mike is funny [and] smart," the source told Us. "He makes her laugh and is respectful of her boundaries. All of these qualities are very important and intriguing to Demi."

However, the source said Demi's family "isn't too invested" in Mike being The One for Demi but they "think he's a nice guy" and "everyone is collectively seeing where things go."

It all began when Demi was watching The Bachelorette air on ABC wrote on Instagram in July, "Mike, I accept your rose," and later wrote in another post, "He always picks [Hannah] up and swings her when he hugs her. Swing me."

Mike subsequently tweeted about finding his perfect match after he was shown getting dumped by Hannah on The Bachelorette.

"Girl you ready for smiles, adventure, comfort, growth, honesty, laughter, me falling using my inhaler and kissing your stretch marks and imperfections. Where U hiding?" Mike tweeted.

"I'm right here, Mike," Demi replied. "I'm right here, boo. My mom already loves you too."

During Mike's September 18th chat with ET, he called Demi "incredibly humble."

"When Demi and I are together, it's laughter and we talk about real sh-t. Like, she's a down-to-earth woman and I respect it so much. And she's just a really humble, really cool, really fun, down-to-earth person," Mike gushed.

The Air Force veteran then told Us on September 20, "What we have in common is that... [she] is literally such a down-to-earth person. We're both from Texas. We love getting tattoos, we love laughing. We're goofy. We both love music... With the right music, I'm just happy."

He added at the time, "We do have serious conversations."

Mike even revealed the No. 1 thing he liked about Demi right off the bat.

"I haven't said this before, but the No. 1 thing I like about Demi is that when we had our first real conversation, she said, 'Hey, this is how it is. Take it or leave it,'" Mike recalled to Us.

"For her to be that strong, powerful and upfront -- wow!... She was real. She's the real sh-t. I love it."

After failing to win Hannah's heart and missing out on a hometown date, Mike was rumored to be a frontrunner to star on The Bachelor's 24th season.

Mike had a fling with Sydney Lotuaco on Bachelor in Paradise earlier this summer, but they called it quits about halfway through the season and Mike left Mexico single and wanting love.

The Bachelor position, however, ultimately went to Peter Weber, and the new season is scheduled to premiere on Monday, January 6 on ABC.
