As much as The Bachelorette fans are hoping Britt Nilsson and boyfriend Brady Toops are going to be a success story for the franchise, the likelihood of that actually happening is slim.

"Britt and Brady aren't going to make it. They are definitely having problems. They might not even make it to the After The Finale Rose live show," a source told Life & Style in its July 6 issue.

The only silver lining of a potential split is the fact Nilsson may have a shot at starring on The Bachelorette next season. According to the source, Nilsson is a leading contender for the role in producers' eyes, especially after what she recently went through.

"ABC would jump at the chance to make her the next Bachelorette -- solo! She should say no given the embarrassment of having to compete with Kaitlyn Bristowe this time, but she won't. She wants to be on TV and be an actress, so the exposure is good," said the source.

Season 11's 25 suitors had to vote for Nilsson or Bristowe to become the official Bachelorette on Night 1 and Nilsson lost, leaving her devastated. However, Toops, who voted for Nilsson to stay, quit on Bristowe halfway through her first Rose Ceremony to follow his heart.

Toops asked host Chris Harrison to help him get in touch with Nilsson because he genuinely wanted to pursue dating her. Harrison believed his sincerity, and so Toops went to Nilsson's hotel room to talk to her.

The Bachelorette season has been airing some clips here or there of Nilsson and Toops' relationship. Fans have been extremely optimistic Nilsson had found the love of her life.

"It's been a little over a week and Brady and I have hung out every single day," Nilsson said during the May 25 episode. "I see who he is and it's really, really good. I feel just extremely comfortable around him."

"I came here for Britt. She's the sweetest, most beautiful person I think I've ever met," Toops told the cameras before asking Nilsson if she'd like to officially be his girl, to which she replied, "Yes, yes of course!"

However, Monday night's broadcast featured Nilsson introducing Toops to her mother. While Nilsson gushed about her boyfriend and was really excited for the two to meet and interact, Nilsson's mother seemed unamused and referred to Toops as her daughter's "friend." Nilsson didn't know how to process her mother's comment, but it didn't look good.
