Although the clock is ticking given it's already June 2022, the bride-to-be said she and her future husband "still want to do it this year."

"We're just trying to find the perfect venue. We actually found one, and I'm not going to call them out, but they said they were available on the date we wanted," Kaitlyn shared.

"And we were so excited! But three days later, they called us and said, 'We cannot believe we made a mistake, but it's actually not available that day.' And we were so bummed out."

Kaitlyn and Jason, 33, still have some logistics to sort out, but the Season 11 The Bachelorette star has a clear picture of what her wedding is going to look like.

"We've gone back and forth with a bunch of different themes, but we keep going back to -- we just want it to be, like, a Gatsby theme, kind of over-the-top," Kaitlyn explained.

Kaitlyn said she envisions "a really black-tie affair" with "champagne fountains."

"That's really not like us, actually, at all," Kaitlyn said with a laugh. "But we'll have our own unique touches throughout the whole wedding, but the vibe of it is going to be very over-the-top."

Kaitlyn also hasn't selected her dream gown yet. The "Off the Vine" podcast host shared how she is still shopping for a wedding dress online and has visited a couple of shops in Nashville, TN, where she and Jason currently reside.

"I'm trying to make it so that my mom, Jason's mom and my sister and my best friend can all be in one area at the same time, which is a lot harder than you would think," Kaitlyn explained.

"So I've done a lot of Pinterest shopping and Instagram shopping, and went by myself to a couple shops in Nashville to get an idea. But I really want everyone to be together for the actual 'say yes to the dress' moment."

Kaitlyn confirmed she'll "absolutely" be having multiple outfit changes on her big day.

"If you asked me five years ago, I'd say, 'No, I don't care, I just need one [dress]. Why do I need to be so dramatic like that?' And now I'm like, 'I want five!'" Kaitlyn noted with a laugh.

Kaitlyn, who will be getting their dogs "custom-made tuxedos," confirmed she's not a Bridezilla "yet" but "may be when it comes closer to the day."

"I might get a little more Bridezilla-y," Kaitlyn admitted.

"But we're both so different in the best ways for planning because he obviously has been in finance his whole life and knows how to budget and create a budget, and he's really good at spreadsheets and all of that."

And Kaitlyn continued, "And I'm really good at the creative side of it and what I picture and how I want it to be unique and true to us. So it's a good combo."

As far as the bridal party goes, Kaitlyn said she thinks she has her lineup of bridesmaids "nailed down."

"I think there's going to be one in there [from Bachelor Nation]," Kaitlyn teased.

Kaitlyn didn't disclose The Bachelor alum's name because she apparently hasn't asked her friend to be in the wedding party yet. (Kaitlyn recently mentioned being "so close" with Whitney Bischoff, whom Kaitlyn had competed against for Chris Soules' heart on The Bachelor 19).

"But there will definitely be some Bachelor-Nation people involved in the whole wedding," Kaitlyn said.

As for Jason, he told People earlier this year that his fellow The Bachelorette 14 alum Blake Horstmann "has got to be there" as well as Jared Haibon from Kaitlyn's The Bachelorette season. He also planned to invite former The Bachelorette star Becca Kufrin.

Kaitlyn told People in April how she and Jason feel pressure to make their wedding perfect.

They initially hoped to have a Fall 2022 wedding, but Kaitlyn and Jason couldn't get the details together in time. When planning an October 2022 wedding, Kaitlyn and Jason had decided on their guest count being "300 or less."

Kaitlyn and Jason got engaged in May 2021 after two years of dating.

Kaitlyn first met Jason while taping an episode of her "Off the Vine" podcast in October 2018, and he took her out on their first date in January 2019.

Jason -- who finished Becca's The Bachelorette season in third place in 2018 -- moved from his place in Seattle, WA, to live with Kaitlyn in Nashville in June 2019. The couple has since adopted two dogs together.

Kaitlyn, who co-hosted The Bachelorette's seventeenth and eighteenth seasons alongside Tayshia Adams, had previously been engaged to her The Bachelorette 11 winner Shawn Booth, but the pair never seemed to get deep into wedding planning and announced their split in November 2018 after three years of dating.
