The Bachelor star Sean Lowe may have given returning bachelorette Kacie Boguskie the group date's rose during Monday night's second episode, but it apparently wasn't because he was really into her.

In a recent interview with TV Guide, Lowe admitted he still hadn't taken Boguskie out of the "friend zone" at this point in the season although he was open to further exploring their relationship to see if a real romantic connection could be made.

"I was still unsure. Kacie and I have a friendship where we're buddies, like I'd punch her on the shoulder. That's not a good thing at all, so I was really trying hard to get her out of the friend zone and that was the first night where I thought, 'OK, maybe I can,' so that's why I gave her the rose," Lowe told TV Guide.

While Lowe was trying to figure out his feelings for Boguskie, he was acting on already-established ones with a couple other bachelorettes.

"[Lesley Murphy] went in for the first kiss; that definitely surprised me," he said, adding that he also didn't expect Sarah Herron would be his first real kiss of the entire season.

"No, I didn't, because she's so nice and a bit reserved. I told myself that I'm not going to set parameters or rules for when to kiss someone. If I feel it, I feel it, and it was a really nice kiss and I enjoyed every second with Sarah."

Murphy's quick kiss during the group date's photo shoot sparked jealousy amongst most of the bachelorettes, especially Tierra LiCausi, who was green with envy. According to The Bachelor star, he wasn't aware LiCausi had such issues with the other girls during that time.

"I had no idea that early on that there was a problem. I could tell during the date that she was totally shut off, but I thought it was because of the photos. I didn't know she had a problem with the other women," Lowe explained.

However, LiCausi's attitude apparently didn't affect how much Lowe liked and was attracted to her.

"No, and you'll see how it plays out, but no, not really," he added.
