The Bachelor star Ben Higgins teases that the end of his season will truly be a shock to fans, because he even surprised himself.

There's been a lot of talk about how Higgins' edition will end since he reportedly had sex with all three women in the Fantasy Suites and recently confirmed he told two bachelorettes he loved them before making his final choice.

"Get ready for an ending that you'll never expect," Higgins wrote in his People blog. "I know I didn't."

Higgins' statement is noteworthy since fans typically expect the Bachelor to select the woman of his dreams and then propose to her. Spoilers have indicated Higgins definitely gets down on one knee, so it'll be interesting to discover what happens that viewers will "never expect."

In preview clips ABC released for The Bachelor's finale, Higgins cries about having to say goodbye to one of his Final 2 bachelorettes.

"It doesn't feel right. This is the biggest mistake I've made and I want to keep her in my life. I don't want to say goodbye, because that's how much I love her," Higgins was shown saying as he closed a limo's door. "I'm about to get on one knee and ask a woman to marry me, unfortunately I just love somebody else more."

The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss told Us Weekly that because one woman gets completely blindsided in the end, the finale is going to be "brutal" and the most dramatic one yet.

"Sometimes you get those exits and the girls seem sort of relieved. Not this time. There's heavy, heavy heartbreak," Fleiss revealed. "Ben took everything seriously more than any Bachelor we've ever had... [The process] hit Ben really hard."

According to a production source, Higgins reportedly went through "hell" to end up with one bachelorette and dumping the runner-up "will leave a scar."

Higgins still has Caila Quinn, Joelle "JoJo" Fletcher and Lauren Bushnell in the running for his heart.
