The Bachelor alum Lauren Bushnell and country singer Chris Lane tied the knot only four months after getting engaged, and there was reportedly a good reason for that quick turnaround.

Lauren, who previously competed on The Bachelor's 20th season starring Ben Higgins, and Chris got married on October 25 after a whirlwind romance less than a year in the making.

The couple exchanged vows in a secret-garden ceremony in Nashville, where they'll soon be moving into a new home together, but fans were surprised how quickly the wedding came together given Chris had just proposed marriage in June.

"After Lauren and Chris' engagement, they were so excited to start their lives together," a source told Us Weekly.

"They decided to plan a fall wedding because it's Chris' favorite time of year."

But that's not the only reason. According to the source, Lauren and Chris hoped to fit their wedding into Chris' current touring schedule for his music, and that left them with a couple of weeks free.

"With his touring schedule, he had the perfect window of time off," the source said.

Chris reportedly finished his European concert tour with Brad Paisley on October 13, and he begins his "Big, Big Plans" headline tour on Thursday, October 31.

During that two weeks of time Chris had off, he reportedly helped Lauren finalize all their wedding plans before saying "I do" at an industrial-chic venue called 14TENN in front of 160 family and friends -- including The Bachelor alums Amanda Stanton, Haley Ferguson, Emily Ferguson, and Jennifer Saviano.

Lauren and Chris took off on a quickie getaway after their wedding but plan to enjoy a "real honeymoon" to Hawaii once he finishes his touring schedule this year, according to People.

"I'm praying for a long music career. It's something I'm very passionate about," Chris told People.

"To get to have somebody like Lauren as a best friend, just in life, is going to make it a million times better. There's just so many firsts that we'll experience -- hopefully kids. Just the whole nine yards. I want all of that with her."

And Lauren predicted she'd only continue falling in love with Chris more throughout their next chapters in life.

"I'll have him by my side, through thick and thin, the good and bad, the challenges and all of the excitement. Just being able to call him my husband through all of that is very exciting," Lauren gushed.

Lauren and Chris met in 2015 at a radio event in Austin, TX, but they started out as friends.

Chris reportedly "randomly asked" Lauren in August 2018 to join a group of his friends for a Bahamas vacation and that's when their mutual attraction became known. However, neither person acted on his or her feelings because they both said they had walls up.

Once Lauren went home to Los Angeles, CA, and Chris returned to Nashville, he said he couldn't get the blonde beauty off his mind.

Daily calls therefore let into more hangout sessions, and then the couple went public with their romance in November 2018 when they walked the red carpet together at the CMA Awards.

By 2019, things moved quickly. Not only did Lauren move to Nashville in March, but they also went ring shopping together and Lauren picked out a sparkler she loved, according to People.

"I just wanted to get her exactly what she wants," Chris said of her 3.5-carat emerald-cut diamond. "I feel like that's a practical way to do it. Why not?"

After their June engagement, Lauren immediately hired a Nashville-based wedding planner.

Prior to getting romantically involved with Chris late last year, Lauren had been engaged to Ben from The Bachelor and also dated a man whom she had met on Tinder, Devin Antin.

Lauren and Ben got engaged on The Bachelor's finale in early 2016, but after about a year together and a Happily Ever After? spinoff on Freeform, the pair split in May 2017.
