"Sorry I've been MIA, I've been busy growing a little angel for the past 7 months," Whitney, 33, captioned a photo of herself and husband Ricky Angel reading a children's book together.

"We are so excited to welcome our little man in May."

Whitney, who competed on The Bachelor's 19th season, and Ricky are therefore expecting a son.

In the photo, Whitney was also holding her dog, Lillie, adding that her furbaby "can't wait to be a big sis!"

The baby announcement marked Whitney's first time posting on Instagram since October 2018.

Whitney and Ricky got married in October 2017 after two years of dating at the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club in Cape Cod, MA.

Whitney and Ricky met each other in September 2015 after getting acquainted on the dating website Bumble.

"As soon as I met Ricky, I knew," Whitney previously told People of her now husband, who popped the question in July 2016.

The fertility nurse was previously engaged to Season 19 The Bachelor star Chris Soules.

Chris, an Iowa farmer, selected Whitney at the end of his journey to find love and proposed marriage during the finale that aired in March 2015.

However, Whitney and Chris called it quits just two months later in May of that year.

"I was in a very raw emotional state after my breakup," Whitney told People after marrying Ricky in 2017. "And I could be myself with him. I didn't feel like I needed to put on a facade. I felt back to normal. It was a very refreshing feeling."
