"A lot of you are asking about my second c-section, and first I'd like to thank everyone for being so kind when asking and coming from a place of genuine curiosity. I've shared in the past I have had a lot of hate and negativity towards even mentioning I'd have another c-section without knowing my circumstances," Raven shared, according to BachelorNation.com.
"The last thing I wanted was another c-section. Gates's birth was a bit traumatic for me."
"I won't get into the details but I had an emergency c-section after pushing half his head out," Raven revealed.
"They had to push him back inside of me to make the incision. And a lot more I could explain but I really don't want to share."
Raven shared about her current pregnancy, "Unfortunately due to an issue with my placenta, I'm not able to try for a VBAC with this pregnancy. It's a totally different issue than what I had with Gates."
Raven apparently had "an emergency c-section" with Gates, adding, "But this one, we knew right away once I had my anatomy scan that a vbac was not a safe option for me or the baby."
Raven concluded her post by writing, "With that being said, I think mothers who want an elected c-section should not be shamed, and we should just wish the best on any birth plan/decisions a mom makes. Whether she chose it or it was chosen for her."
Raven wrote on Instagram at the time, "OVER THE MOON EXCITED TO SHARE THE NEWS! Our Honeymoon baby will be here in January! I've loved you before you were in my womb!"
And Adam simultaneously wrote on his own page, "Beyond excited to announce our little baby into this world. Your Mom has already started to like Daddy's food groups and I think that's a great start. Cheers to fatherhood. Coming soon... January 2022."
A few months after Gates was born, Raven shared on the "Click Bait with Bachelor Nation" podcast in May 2022 how she and Adam attend therapy and "don't want divorce" to ever be an option for them.
She then told fans in a December 2022 Instagram Q&A session that she knew Adam was The One when she visited him in Dallas, TX, and they talked about their future together, which made her feel safe and protected.
Raven and Adam fell in love in Mexico on Bachelor in Paradise's fourth season in 2017 and then got engaged in June 2019.
After getting engaged, Raven and Adam initially scheduled their wedding for May 30, 2020, but they had to postpone the wedding multiple times due to the coronavirus pandemic.
