The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan announced Akbar and Sheri had been eliminated from the Race once the "Married Educators" arrived at the sixth Pit Stop in Corsica in sixth -- and last -- place.

"We ran a good Race," Akbar said in his final words. "It was just they were better than us, and I don't mind. If you leave it all on the court, there's nothing wrong with losing if you give it your all. And I felt we gave it our all today."

The Amazing Race broadcast began with all the teams boarding the same chartered flight from Lugano, Switzerland to their next destination, the French island of Corsica.

Most of the teams seemed to agree that Ryan and Dusty, who finished the previous leg in first place, were good at everything and the team to beat.

After touching down in Corsica, teams were instructed to make their way to the capital city of Ajaccio, where they'd start Leg 6 of the Race at Pont Altiani, an ancient Roman bridge.

The teams departed in three groups 15 minutes apart from one another, with "Best Friends" Ryan Ferguson and Dusty Harris as well as "Twins and Radio Hosts" Marianela "Lulu" Gonzalez and Marissa "Lala" Gonzalez leaving in first place at 9AM.

The teams were asked to find Belvedere de Corte, a 700-year-old citadel overlooking the city of Corte, where they'd find their next clue as well as a fresh canister of goat's milk they would need for either side of the upcoming Detour.

Akbar and Sheri, "Flight Attendants" Raquel Moore and Cayla Platt, and "Internet Personalities" Kim Holderness and Penn Holderness left in the second group at 9:15AM.

And that left the third group -- "Father and Daughter" Arun Kumar and Natalia Kumar -- leaving at 9:30AM. The team was ready to race hard and come back from their prior non-elimination leg they had finished in last place.

Kim decided to be "a new Kim" by living in the moment more and trying to have some fun with the Race, and Akbar and Sheridan hoped to get on the save wavelength and try to work better today.

Ryan and Dusty ripped open their next clue in first place, with Lulu and Lala right on their heels.

The teams had to choose and complete one of two possible Detour tasks: "Say Cheese" or "Mule, Please."

"Say Cheese" required the teams to produce three baskets of cheese the old-fashioned way and then deliver baskets to a storage cave, where "The Big Cheese" would hand them a new clue.

"Mule, Please" required the teams to strap a harness on a mule so it could carry the large canister of goat's milk and then make their way along a rugged trail to Lac du Melu Fromagerie de Grotelle. If the Racers could make it without spilling their milk, they would receive their next clue.

The first two teams chose to make cheese so they wouldn't have to deal with a mule, who could possibly act up and not behave.

And then Kim and Penn in third place also chose "Say Cheese," as well as Raquel and Cayla in fourth place.

However, Penn suggested dealing with a mule sounded easy on paper and so they should change course and switch tasks. Raquel and Cayla also changed their minds and opted to do the mule task in the hope of working with Kim and Penn and getting the Detour done together.

Akbar and Sheri decided to take on the cheese task in fifth place, and then Arun and Natalia chose the cheese task in sixth place.

When waiting for their cheese to curdle, Dusty became very anxious and wanted to switch. Ryan, however, thought it would be smarter to stay, be patient and stick it out.

Lulu and Lala noticed how Dusty was "all over the place," and they were impressed by Ryan's patience with his friend.

Kim and Penn made the right call in choosing "mule" because they finished the Detour in first place.

The team learned they must proceed to Verghellu Canyon Altipiani and search for their next clue. Kim wondered if her new energy had forged them ahead, and Penn appeared thrilled.

Meanwhile, Akbar had total trust in his wife's cooking skills, especially since they often made mac and cheese together. Natalia also felt confident in her ability to curdle the cheese.

Raquel and Cayla struggled to strap up their mule as Ryan and Dusty kept turning their pot's temperature up and down so the cheese wouldn't cool or burn.

Lulu and Lala completed the Detour in second place, and they said it felt "amazing" to beat the guys, who hadn't even filled one basket of cheese yet.

Raquel and Cayla then moved on from the Detour in third place.

"This is the first time we've ever been ahead of the boys, and it feels great!" Raquel bragged.

Akbar and Sheri finished the task in fourth place, and Arun and Natalia were right behind them in fifth place.

The results left Dusty and Ryan frustrated, and so the men decided to switch Detour tasks after 40 minutes of invested time in the cheese.

To make matters worse, Ryan and Dusty had to push their car up a hill in order to make it to the mule task. The guys were hoping to strap up their mule quickly and claw their way back to the top.

Ryan and Dusty eventually completed the Detour in last place.

Once at the canyon, Kim and Penn ripped open their next clue in first place.

It then became time for a Roadblock, and the clue read, "Who wants to make a splash?"

For the Roadblock, the participating Racers were instructed to slip and slide their way down a one-and-a-half mile river while keeping his or her eyes peeled for a clue along the way.

Penn opted to try the task, and Lulu -- who arrived at the clue in second place -- also decided to try it.

Raquel and Cayla, racing in third, agreed Raquel should do the Roadblock, and then Lulu helped Raquel out by telling her where the clue was hidden.

Lulu ended up regretting that decision because Raquel went on without her and pushed ahead. Lulu couldn't believe that Raquel didn't wait for her, and so she determined the Race was no longer about being nice.

Once Akbar and Sheri made it to the Roadblock in fourth place, Akbar decided to do the task and it turned out to be a physical challenge for him to hike up the rocks.

Arun opted to do the Roadblock on behalf of his fifth-place team, but he was able to pass Akbar at one point in the hike.

Once Ryan and Dusty arrived at the Roadblock task in sixth place, Ryan chose to do the task as quickly and efficiently as possible -- as long as cheese wouldn't be involved.

Once Kim and Penn finished the Roadblock in first place, they proceeded to the Pit Stop. Each team had to pump up a kayak and then paddle part of a 55-mile waterway upstream to the Pit Stop at Cardiccia Dam.

Raquel and Cayla advanced from the Roadblock in second place, with Lulu and Lala right on their heels.

Meanwhile, Ryan caught up with Akbar, who was struggling in his heavy wet suit, and Arun.

Arun and Natalia completed the Roadblock task in fourth place, and Ryan and Dusty managed to jump ahead and leave for the Pit Stop in fifth place.

Ryan was so thankful the Roadblock task was a physical one, and Sheri -- in sixth place -- told the cameras of her husband, "I guess now he sees it's not as easy as what you think it is until you actually get out there and you do it."

"I'm sure he thought he was doing his best, and I'm not going to be the one to tell him that it wasn't," Sheri added.

Kim and Penn completed the leg in first place, and Phil informed the pair that they had won $5,000 each and would be leaving in first at the start of the next leg.

Lulu and Lala forgot to leave their backpacks and the race pack in the car, so once they got to the kayaks, they had to run back and drop their belongings off. The girls were disappointed in themselves for not reading the clue thoroughly.

The mistake allowed Dusty and Ryan to make up even more ground.

Raquel and Cayla made it to the Pit Stop mat in second place, and then Ryan and Dusty raced to Phil and finished Leg 6 in third place.

Dusty felt he had made his father, who passed away in April 2021, proud, and he yelled about doing his "best performance" with Ryan yet. The guys also quickly ripped off their life vests, and Raquel and Cayla poked fun at them for wanting to show off their muscles.

Arun and Natalia placed fourth, and then Lulu and Lala made it to the Pit Stop in fifth place.

After a long day, Akbar and Sheri stepped on the mat in sixth -- and last -- place.

"I'm sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the Race," Phil announced. "And you probably knew that coming in here."

"Yeah," Sheri replied.

"We was in it. I got taken over in the mountains, and that was it. So it was me today, Phil," Akbar admitted.
