The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star got engaged to lawyer John Bluher late last week at the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico, E! News reported.

"I am so much happier than I have ever been. I never thought I would feel this way," Armstrong told E! News.

"John and I have an equal respect for one another. We have a real friendship and partnership. He is a beautiful man. I didn't think I would ever be able to trust someone completely. But somehow, he opened my heart and I let him in."

Bluher reportedly popped the question on the beach, where he had set up a day bed and pillows. Prior to the special moment, he filled a tent with white roses and lilies outside their oceanfront suite and lined a path to its entrance with candles. Once inside the tent, he uncorked a bottle of champagne and then the couple went for a short walk on the beach.

Following the romantic proposal, the couple enjoyed dinner catered by the resort's restaurant Carolina, according to E! News.

"The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort is where we fell in love, it was the perfect choice for this wonderful occasion," Bluher said. "Taylor was beautiful and never stopped smiling! It was an amazing evening, a 10 all 'round."

Armstrong gushed about her relationship in November of last year, telling RadarOnline that Bluher was "perfect" and the love of her life.

The reality TV star's late husband Russell Armstrong committed suicide in August 2011 about a month after she filed for divorce.

Taylor's unhappiness about her first marriage had been chronicled on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' first season in 2010. Shortly after she filed the divorce paperwork in July 2011, Taylor publicly alleged Russell had verbally and physically abused her during their marriage, which had lasted nearly six years.
