Even though American Idol's seventh season is in the books there's never any down time for Simon Cowell, who apparently has some "big" news.

Cowell appeared as a guest on Ryan Seacrest's Tuesday morning KIIS radio program and informed the Idol host he plans on making a "fantastic" announcement "very soon."

"Is it big enough to be front page?" asked Seacrest.

"It's big enough to be the entire newspaper," answered Cowell.

"So let me get this straight," replied Seacrest.  "You're going to do a deal that's big enough to be in the entire paper and it's going to make me happy?"

"It'll make you happy knowing that I'm being more successful," said Cowell.  "That's what you live for, right?"

Cowell called Seacrest's radio program from the U.K., where Seacrest said the Idol judge had just participated in a "big, closed-door pow-wow."

"We're still in it," said Cowell about the meeting.  "Well, I'm kind of like next door.  We're in a hotel, so I'm in the bedroom and they're next door talking about me."

While he's currently across the pond, Cowell will be returning to the States in a few weeks for Idol eighth-season auditions, which commence July 17 in San Francisco.
