Hopefully the stars of The Hills didn't have any plans of sneaking away for the summer sans a camera crew.

MTV has renewed The Hills for a fourth season that will premiere in August with 19 new episodes, a network representative told Us Weekly in a Tuesday report.

"They just started shooting," an insider told Us. "The fourth season will be about what they ended up doing this summer. [Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port] will still be working at People's Revolution."

MTV is currently airing the last of The Hills' eight additional third-season episodes, which have touched upon everything from Conrad and Port traveling to Paris; Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt attempting to reconcile their relationship; Audrina Patridge dealing with Lauren "Lo" Bosworth serving as Conrad's new BFF; and Montag and Pratt feeling betrayed by his sister Stephanie for befriending Conrad.

The Hills third-season finale will air Monday, May 12 at 10PM ET/PT, with MTV airing both a pre- and post-show party in the Hollywood Hills, according to Us, which added Usher and rapper Young Jeezy will perform their hit "Love in This Club."

The Laguna Beach spin-off premiered in May 2006.  With the debut of its fourth season scheduled for this summer, The Hills will have aired one more season than the show it spawned from.
