Cheryl Burke is apparently busy trying to land a job for when Dancing with the Stars is on hiatus between its currently airing ninth season and next spring's tenth edition.

The two-time Dancing with the Stars professional champion is currently in negotiations to play the lead role of Chicago's Roxie Hart on Broadway, a source told Us Weekly in a Wednesday report.

The 25-year-old Burke -- who left Dancing with the Stars ninth season after her celebrity partner Tom DeLay was forced to withdraw due to injury -- reportedly submitted a Chicago audition tape last week.

"People don't see her as a singer," the source told Us. "But she trained for her audition with one of the top vocal coaches in L.A."

Burke also apparently has personal motivation to land on Broadway this winter.

"She's excited about the prospect of spending the holidays in New York," the source told Us. "That's where her boyfriend [model Maxwell Zagorski] is based."
