Nick Viall definitely isn't The Bachelor star Robby Hayes envisioned.

Hayes, who finished The Bachelorette's latest season starring JoJo Fletcher as the runner-up, talked about what went through his mind when he heard ABC producers picked Viall for Season 21's Bachelor.

"I was a little shocked, just kind of like I think Bachelor Nation was," Hayes admitted during an interview with Us Weekly.

"I thought [producers] would go with someone -- you know, like [Luke Pell] and [Chase McNary] were being thrown around -- younger, someone with a little more energy to bring to the table that, frankly, hasn't been around the block a couple times."

Viall has "been around the block," according to Hayes, because he competed on The Bachelorette twice and Bachelor in Paradise once, and all three times ended badly. Viall also managed to have sex with at least two of the three women he got involved with on the shows.

Viall revealed former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman had "made love" to him during an appearance on her season's After the Final Rose, while former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe made it known she had sex with Viall mid-season during their one-on-one date in Ireland.

Viall also enjoyed a Fantasy Suite date with Jennifer Saviano on Bachelor in Paradise, but no one knows for sure what happened between them off-camera.

Since Hayes, a 27-year-old former competitive swimmer, isn't thrilled about Viall being the Bachelor, he admitted he doesn't know if he'll watch the new season that premieres in January 2017.

"I say that, but then I probably will. I might watch just to see if they bring [Josh Murray] in to steal the show again," Hayes joked with Us about the man who won Dorfman's heart as well as Amanda Stanton's after Viall went on a date with her in Paradise.

On a more serious note, Hayes said, "I wish him the best. I know how I felt going through it, and I hope he finds that love he's been looking for."

Reports circulated Hayes was up for the Bachelor role as well as Pell, McNary, James Taylor and Wells Adams.

"I would definitely consider it," Hayes said of the position.

"With that being said, the scrutiny, the tabloid stuff, everything that comes along with it is hard for, not just you, but for the family around you, the friends... Your feelings get hurt. It would be something I would have to sit down and discuss with [everyone]... I'm not the only one that goes through it."
