Nick Cannon's condition has improved to the point where he may soon be able to head home to his family after being hospitalized with "mild kidney failure" earlier this week.

"Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he'll be discharged within 2 days," the America's Got Talent host's wife Mariah Carey wrote on her Twitter account Friday.

"As always he's laughing and in good spirits."

Cannon was hospitalized with the condition -- which neither Cannon or Carey have thus far elaborated further on -- after the couple celebrated the new year in Aspen last weekend.

Carey has since been posting photos of herself by her husband's side in his hospital bed -- the latest of which features the parents of infant twins surrounded by get-well balloons and flowers.

Cannon's condition has clearly improved over the course of the week, as Carey told People upon his transfer to a hospital in Los Angeles that "the situation is not easy" and he was "in a lot of pain."

The singer also acknowledged that she and Cannon "really appreciate everybody's love and support."
