Nastia Liukin has gotten engaged to Venture Up founder Matt Lombardi.
The 25-year-old Russian-American retired Olympic gymnast announced the news by sharing a photo of her enormous diamond engagement ring Monday on Twitter.
"Matt proposed in Boston last night with a beautiful ring he designed himself," she later told E! News. "He told me we were going to celebrate together and to my surprise my parents, best friend and his family and best friend were waiting there to celebrate with us. We are both so excited for our future together."
Lombardi's friend and former Boston College hockey teammate, Ben Smith, posted a picture of the pair at the celebration. Liukin and Lombardi recently stunned on the red carpet at the Indiana CPA Society celebration gala in Indianapolis.
Liukin is the 2008 Olympic individual all-around champion in women's gymnastics, and retired from the sport in 2012. She recently took part in Season 20 of "Dancing with the Stars," and finished in fourth place with professional partner Derek Hough.
