The singer and "The Voice" coach made the announcement on her website alongside a photo of the album's title appearing on the back of a black leather jacket.

"Younger Now" will include recent singles "Malibu" and "Inspired" which feature a more positive, folk-infused sound when compared to her last proper album release, 2013's hip-hop inspired Bangerz.

Cyrus released her fifth album, an experimental and psychedelic collaboration with the Flaming Lips titled "Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz" in 2015.

"I'm giving the world a hug and saying, 'Hey, look. We're good -- I love you.' And I hope you can say you love me back," the 24-year-old told Billboard.

On Monday, it was announced that Cyrus will be performing at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 27, Variety reported.

Other performers include Ed Sheeran, Fifth Harmony and Lorde.
