The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga and husband Joe Gorga are starting from scratch to build the house of their dreams, selling their New Jersey mansion for $3.8 million in the process.

The Gorgas sold their pricey pad in Montville Township for its full asking price and bought land in the Franklin Lakes area, where they will begin building a brand new home this fall, Us Weekly reported.

In the meantime, the reality TV stars will reportedly be renting a house nearby because two of their three children, eight-year-old Antonia and five-year-old Gino, are set to begin the school year.

The Gorgas also have a three-year-old son named Joey.

"I feel like this was meant to be. It happened just in time for the kids to start their first of day of school," Melissa, 34, told Us. "It's going to be a lot of work designing and building the new home, but Joe is an incredible builder and I'm excited to go back to where we started our family."

Added Joe, "This is what I love to do. I can't wait to begin building another dream home for my family."

The couple had revealed in May of last year they had put their 2009 colonial-style home -- complete with six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, four fireplaces, and a three-car garage -- up for sale.

"We tried Montville, but it just wasn't for us. We want to go back to Franklin Lakes, which is closer to where I work, and we're looking at a couple of properties now," Joe told the magazine at the time.

Today, August 20, marks Melissa and Joe's ninth wedding anniversary.

"I love you Joe Gorga. Happy Anniversary! 9 years feels like 9 days," Melissa tweeted Tuesday.
