LeAnn Rimes is insisting she wasn't drunk onstage while performing with The X Factor finalist Carly Rose Sonenclar during Wednesday night's performance show.

"I was trying to help this 13-year-old girl who was having some trouble with the song," Rimes told TMZ in response to speculation she was in some way impaired last night because her portion of the duet featured some mistakes and awkward body language.

"LeAnn was not performing the way she would normally perform, because she was onstage with a young girl," Rimes' lawyer Larry Stein added.

Rimes is reportedly confused as to why people are criticizing her for being drunk, because the country star is claiming she was just attempting to calm Sonenclar's nerves during their performance. Stein told the TMZ people are probably just accusing Rimes of not being sober because there have been various negative rumors circulating about her recently.
"There have been a lot of untrue things said by others and it feeds into this sort of thing," Stein explained.

Rimes also reportedly spilled a big plate of food everywhere backstage. Stein told TMZ he knew nothing about the alleged incident.
