The 26-year-old television personality reflected in a statement Sunday to Us Weekly following Dominique Potter's debut on "Teen Mom 2" last week.

"There are lot of things I've been regretting lately. For one, I feel bad about the way I went about the situation with Dom. She's so sweet but I really just didn't know how to handle it all," Lowry explained.

"I didn't want it on TV, and I guess I really didn't value how seriously she took us," she said. "So in turn, she feels embarrassed and betrayed. That's my fault."

The May 28 episode followed Lowry and Potter as they drove to support Jo Rivera's family at a benefit. Lowry was left at a loss after she received a text asking if Potter was her girlfriend.

"I don't know how to answer that," she told Potter. "How do I answer that?"

Lowry addressed her reaction and her relationship with Potter in a tweet Saturday.

"Dom & I dating - I wasn't trying to deny her or a relationship. & we had fun while it lasted but things didn't work out. I've learned a lot over the years and wanted to keep things private & off the show but i don't think i really handled it properly," the star wrote.
