Pennsylvania hard rockers, Fuel, went on national TV Thursday to ask "American Idol" reject Chris Daughtry to join the band.

Fuel vocalist Brett Scallions left in February and the band has been conducting auditions in search of a replacement.

Daughtry, who was eliminated from the Fox TV talent competition by public vote on Wednesday night, covered Fuel's single "Hemorrhage" as one of his earlier song selections.

Fuel's songwriter/guitarist Carl Bell and bassist Jeff Abercrombie went on the syndicated celebrity news show "Extra" Thursday night and extended an invitation to "Idol's" rejected rocker.

"Chris, if you are watching, we've talked about this before, and if you want to entertain it again we'll take it and go," Abercrombie said.

There was no immediate answer from Daughtry, who'll be busy with the "American Idol Live" U.S. tour at least until September.
