Fixer Upper star Chip Gaines has shaved his long red locks for charity!

The 42-year-old home renovator promised fans that if they donated an eyebrow-raising amount of money to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, he would shave his head, and he did just that!

Chip's wife, Joanna Gaines, posted a photo of Chip's new bald head on Wednesday after the couple visited the Target House in Memphis, TN, where children reside whose cancer treatments are scheduled to last more than three months.

"We are leaving Memphis changed. Kiddos of @stjude we go with your faces on our minds and your stories in our hearts. Thank you for letting us be a part of your home at Target House. We are cheering you on every step of the way," Joanna, 39, captioned a photo in which dozens of kids were rubbing Chip's shiny head.

Chip first announced his efforts to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on November 2 via Instagram.

"It's come to my attention that most of you hate my current hairstyle. But how MUCH do you hate it? Now's the time to put your money where your mouth is," Chip wrote alongside a picture of someone holding scissors to his shoulder-length hair.

"So here's the deal: Next week, Jo and I are visiting the beautiful kids at Target House with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. No family ever pays @StJude for treatment, travel or food -- so basically, we want to bring them a giant check from YOU to help cover costs -- lets come together to do something big to bless these kiddos."

"Donate to @StJude through the link in my profile," added the HGTV reality star, "and the more money we raise over the next FOUR days, the shorter my hair goes. That's a promise. And, who knows, maybe if you really exceed my expectations...I'll buzz it all off. #OperationHaircut."

Chip did end up buzzing all of his hair off, so generous donors must have pleasantly surprised him.

Although Chip and Joanna -- who just launched their "Hearth and Hand" collection with Target earlier this month -- did not reveal the total amount of money raised for the hospital, Chip revealed this past weekend that $184,326 had already poured in with three days left to go for the fundraiser. Chip called it an "impressive start" at the time.

Chip and Joanna just finished filming the fifth -- and final -- season of Fixer Upper last week. The season will premiere on Tuesday, November 21 at 9PM ET/PT on HGTV.

The pair announced in late September Fixer Upper would be coming to an end so they could spend more time with their four children and keep their marriage healthy and sound.

Chip and Joanna have been starring on the popular show since it debuted with a pilot in May 2013 and began airing its first full season in April 2014.
